Hi Everyone!

The Call for Proposals (CFP) for both HashiConf EU (8-10 July, Amsterdam) and HashiConf US (9-11 September) are now open!

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for 30-minute talks that include at least one of our six of our products: Consul, Nomad, Terraform, Vault, Packer, and Vagrant, and at all levels, from deep-dives to high-level usage. We’re interested in both open source and Enterprise use cases.

First-time and novice speakers welcome. If you’ve spoken at a local user group, reach for the next level by submitting a proposal to join us in Amsterdam or Seattle this summer!

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • What’s an infrastructure problem you encountered that you solved with HashiCorp tools? How did you do it?

  • What’s something you struggled to learn or understand about HashiCorp tools? How did you figure it out and what was your ah-ha moment?

  • What are some ways you’ve integrated HashiCorp tools with each other and/or other tools, e.g. Kubernetes?

  • What are some ways you’ve used HashiCorp tools with the most common cloud platform(s) (GCP, AMS, Azure, etc.)?

  • What are some best practices you’ve developed for using HashiCorp tools?

  • What tooling have you developed to make your use of HashiCorp products easier or more efficient?

And here are some Vault-specific ideas:

  • Integratinging Vault with Kubernetes.

  • Vault and auto unseal (cloud and HSM).

  • Integrations using dynamic secrets.

  • Implementing centralized secrets management with Vault.

  • Integrating Vault with CI/CD and other deployment pipelines.

  • How to make Vault part of defense in depth security best practices.

  • Deploying Vault: best practices, gotchas, good to knows.

  • Vault telemetry and metrics.

  • Writing Vault plugins / interesting plugins for Vault.

  • Using Vault as a CA, to manage PKI X.509 certificates.

  • Vault logging and auditing.

  • Authentication best practices (e.g. AppRole).

  • Integrations and tooling that improve experience of using Vault.

  • Using Vault policies.

  • Neat things you can do with Vault and consul template and/or envconsul.

  • Migrations.

Accepted speakers receive a complimentary general admission pass to the conference and we provide travel support for those who need it.

Reach out to hash...@hashicorp.com if you have any questions and don’t forget to submit your talk proposal(s) no later than:

  • 15 March 2019 for HashiConf EU in Amsterdam. Submit here.

  • 2 April 2019 for HashiConf US in Seattle. Submit here.

Cheers,

Christie
