Custom docker image with plug-in

Hi everyone,

I made a login plug-in. And because we are using kubernete I want to make a custom docker image (from vault) and then copy the login plug-in.

I succeed to do that easily but then, an operator still need to enable the login plug-in.

I just wonder if there is a way to do so at the build time (of the docker image) ? Or at least the registration in the plug-in catalog?

I think it is not possible but just want to be sure.

Hi Marc,

For production installations we require the plugin to be registered "online" through the API. If you're working in dev mode you can use the "--dev-plugin-dir" flag and it will automatically register all the plugins in the provided directory.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for answering this question -- this post is the only spot where that option is documented!  Are the docs hosted someplace where I could make a PR onto them?  Would be nice if that option was mentioned here: https://www.vaultproject.io/docs/commands/server.html#dev-options
