North Facing House- valley in south and sloping south

I am considering buying a house in a rural town here in the US.
The house is facing north in a plot and has garage entrance through the
east side.
The issue is that the plot is a sloping towards south and has a big
ravine (a deep valley) of about 30 feet running in the south.
Is it a bad thing to buy this property? What consequences and Could I
do something to fix this?
Any help would be appreciated!
