A friend of mine sent me this:

We recently received a grant from National Science Foundation to build
a real-time sensor network to monitor earthquake hazards. The job
entails integrating external sensors with Android phones, and writing
an app to handle sensor data. Ideal candidate will be an Android
developer with experience with networking, sensors and accelerometers.

This might be a great opportunity for one of you, because they are
willing to work with someone away from the Bay area and they are doing
some very cool science.
