Afew months ago I received an integrated amp in for review. It was from a new division of Kinki Studios, the Chinese company who brought us the EXM1, which was a POWERHOUSE integrated for around $2500. I reviewed the EXM1 and it had power, slam and force.
The CHoco Sound EMEI integrated amp is cut from a different cloth when it comes to the sound, but not so far from the stunning design qualities that the Kinki Studios pieces brought. The CHoco Sound integrated is compact but solid and hefty. When you lift it, it feels like every inch of space inside is filled in with some kind of audio goodness as it feels so solid.
What shocked me about this amp after it arrived was the quality of the build and the thought that went into the design because this amp comes in at such an affordable price for what is delivered in the EMEI. For under $1,700 this amp delivers not only the good looks but a unique sound and plenty of oomph and power for almost any speaker. As I said, the sound is unique and different from most of the other integrated amps that come through my doors.
While they say there is no coloration, I do hear a little but f0r me, I LOVE IT. Again, no matter the speaker I hook up to this little amp (Focal Diablo, Alexandria Audio Monitor, Triangle Comete 40th, Daniel Hertz EVA or even the CSS Typhons) they exhibit more warmth than when I use other amplifiers. The warmth is present but it is not the kind of warmth I used to associate the word with.
The sound of this amp, while leaning warm is also detailed. The bass and mid bass is warm, the treble is neutral yet somehow this amp manages to blend everything together to where it sounds NATURAL, REAL and it also brings the emotion out in music when it is recorded within it. Not all amps or speakers can do this. Some systems are tuned for all out detail and imaging performance. Some systems are tuned to make pleasing music that connect with us, and the CHoco does this for me, no matter the speaker I hook up to it.
It has been reliable and I have had no issues except a user error where my speaker cables touched together while the amp was on and blew a fuse. A quick fuse replacement and it was back up and running. Over the weeks since then the amp has settled in and sounded better and better the more I used it, or so it seemed.
I was running this as a simple system. The Alexandria Audio speakers, a simple WIIM Pro Plus streamer and DAC, my fave $39 speaker cables and the EMEI. Total retail cost of this system is close to $9k but that is because the speakers retail for $6500. If we swap those with say the Triangle Comete 40th, that cost goes down to $4500. The Alexandria Audio setup is a much more refined and musical setup as it puts out some low bass where the Triangles do not. In any case, I love this little amp and I prefer it personally to the EXM1.
It may not look as exciting as the EXM1 but it is a different vibe all together. A different look and sound. Do you prefer fast, powerful and impactful or warm-ish with some glow and beauty? BTW, the EME1 can do slam and power as well but not as effortlessly as the EXM1.
Over the last few years I have heard a ton of integrated amps that range in price from $999 to $20,000. While my all time fave integrated amps are now the AAvik U150, Pass Labs INT250 and the Daniel Hertz Maria I can say that I would place the CHoco sound right after them as it is unique, different, cute, and well built with quality parts and it has a sound I love.
The negatives? It only has two inputs. That is about it. If you need more than two inputs then this is not the amp for you but f you are like me and keep things simple, and use one input for streaming and one for analog then this amp could be the one you have been searching for. I love this EMEI amp from CHoco Sound and highly recommend it if this review sounds like it may be for you.
You can buy or see more info on this amp at the CHoco Sound website HERE. I make zero commission, have not been paid to do this review and have no affiliation with CHoco Sound. They sent me this amp for my honest opinion and that is what I am giving here.
100% different vivbe and sound. As stated in my Enleum review that amp has energy, drive and opens up the top end while providing great bass, etc. The CHoco sounds warmer, fuller, fatter and is a more mellow listen. It sounds more like a SET amp with balls. ; ) Two different sounds.
Megapixel ratings for trail cameras seem to increase more & more every year. In reality, the native resolution of 99% of all trail cameras is 5 megapixels or less. Manufacturers artificially inflate megapixel ratings for advertising purposes through a process called interpolation. Interpolated photos are enhanced by software to mimic the file size of a higher megapixel photo, but seldom offer additional clarity or resolution. The result is an exponentially larger file size photo which takes longer to load and slows down the speed of your camera. We always program our cameras to capture photos at the image sensor's native resolution. This allows our cameras to operate as efficiently as possible and store more photos to memory. With shorter load times, this also allows us to review photos at a much quicker pace. To put things in perspective, the trail camera widely considered to be the "Gold Standard" and used by more professional researchers than any other unit is just 3 megapixels.
Ultimate Lithium batteries are the longest-lasting battery choice due to their incredible consistency and capacity. We've loved these batteries for a long time. However, in recent years they have become cost prohibitive and forced us to seek out a more affordable, eco-friendly option.
The Browning Solar Panel Camera Power Pack is compatible with all of the Browning trail camera models and provides a constant power source. As with all solar panels, the battery life of this camera will be directly related to the amount of sunlight the panels receive.
This package includes 10 ft. of cable and can be mounted above obstructions to get the best cell signal possible in remote areas. The long range Browning antenna accessory is compatible with Browning Vision Pro series cellular trail cameras.
*Picture recovery time: It starts transmitting as it is taking pictures. On a 1 second recovery it gets behind on sending pictures on constant motion for a minute and will transmit for over 10 minutes after motion stops. The recovery times will be about all other settings.
The Browning Defender Vision Pro is similar to other recent Browning models. The latch is easy to open/close and the camera has a tripod mount on the bottom and a bracket on the back for a cable lock.
Step 2: On the Services and Equipment page you will need to enter the ICCID and IMEI numbers from your camera in the ACTIVATE NEW SUBSCRIPTION fields. The IMEI numbers are on a label inside of the control panel door of your camera (just to the left of the lcd screen). You can find the ICCID number when you turn the camera on, select a network, see the QR code (if setting this up on the app you scan the code), then select enter to see imei, enter again to see iccid.
Your camera will make connection with a cell tower and transmit the images to your Strike Force Wireless Account. You can view the pictures on your laptop or mobile app. Your camera screen will display the cellular signal strength. If your camera registers the cell tower strength low (as indicated by a red icon), you may need to relocate the camera to an area with a stronger signal.
When you set up your camera in the field, the camera will automatically connect to the Browning servers and connect to your account. The camera will update its settings and communication times according to the camera settings menu of your online account or mobile app.

Apps have no access to IMEI or UDID numbers. Nor are apps allowed to access system metadata or logs. These are technical restrictions, not related to app review or anything. There is simply no way to get the information, even if the wanted it, which they certainly do. In order to get the IMEI or UDID of the device, the app would have to ask the user to provide it. That would probably get them in trouble with Apple App Review.
Apple does have services that allow developers to uniquely identify devices. But these services are per-vendor and cannot be used to cross reference as other vendors would have different identifiers for the same device. There is also an advertising identifier that is subject to Apple's privacy controls.
The biggest risk here is the user, not Apple. If you install apps from source other than the App Store, then none of this will apply. If you install apps via a corporate MDM service, then the assumption is that the company owns the device, so the corporate MDM server can access the IMEI and UDID. Sometimes developers can public beta software that will require you to provide a UDID or IMEI to use. All of these are legitimate uses. However, scammers and hackers will attempt to use these methods to get your information too.
And finally, you specifically asked about UUID. I assume you were asking about UDID. A UUID is just a general-purpose unique identifier. And it isn't even unique. These are very commonly used in all software. A vendor could use its own UUID to uniquely identify a device. But due to the restrictions listed above, no other app could ever find out what that UUID was, except in certain, very restricted cases, all under Apple control.
