Hey All,
I just wanted to draw your attention to the new Australian Philosophy Olympiad that is being set up this year. My understanding of it (I've been asked to help out with designing questions, assessment criteria, etc) is that it aims to eventually establish itself
as something akin to the Maths Competition that many schools run each year. The date for the first round of the competition is next month and winners will be announced in April. Students who are able to demonstrate both mastery in terms of writing a philosophy
essay to the requirements of the Olympiad and have the capacity to write a philosophy essay in one of the International Philosophy Olympiad's official languages other than English (French, German, Spanish) will also be considered for participation in the International
Olympiad in Warsaw in May. Either way, its a great extension opportunity for those students who are looking to stretch themselves in the subject.
Kind Regards,
Lenny
