Hey VAPS PLANNERS!
This is it - we are 4 days from the first day of the conference, and we need to recruit about 600 people!! PLEASE do all that you can to convince your friends, family, allies, and enemies to come to this conference - this is for our generation!
We all need to help to really make this happen. Here is an easy way - spend an hour on two on the beloved facebook (haha!) and send this message out to your friends across the state! Personal messages work really well. You can edit this to your liking:
Hey, long time no talk! What are you up to next weekend? Have you
heard about VA Power Shift?? Its this massive sustainability
conference happening at Tech for college students from across the state.
Want to get the real scoop on global warming?? The worlds leading
climate scientist, Dr. James Hansen, will be coming to give us the real
deal on what is going on!
There will be over 25 different schools represented, and it is all
about how our generation needs to come together to figure out
sustainability in the face of climate change, over-consumption, and
ever increasing pollution - we will be the ones that will have to
figure it out. We are offering over 60 different workshops from campus
organizing to green living to general environmental education and even
politics in Virginia and green technologies. PLEASE come and support
our future and sustainability on your campus and in our state! We will
be able to house you for the weekend, if you don't have someone else
you'd rather stay with.
