The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an unprecedented educational crisis that has forced educators, parents and students to tackle challenges ranging from learning disruption due to closure of educational institutions to shifting to online learning models and more recently, planning for reopening of schools.
Under the Global Education Coalition (https://en.unesco.org/covid19/educationresponse/globalcoalition), UNESCO New Delhi and Facebook have come together to launch a “Community of Practice”: an initiative to guide and support stakeholders through this challenging time.
The Community is envisioned as a multi-stakeholder, collaborative online platform to foster dialogue, share resources and drive capacity building with the objective of 'Building Back Better'. In the next few months, the Community will focus on supporting the reopening of Indian schools in a sustainable way. This includes building a common understanding of global frameworks through interactive sessions with experts, focus group discussions, surveys and other activities. The Facebook group would also serve as a platform for sharing real time updates from the ground as the reopening process gradually take place across various states and to draw important insights from these implementation experiences. The group will also feature relevant updates and activities of other international partners.
We invite you to join and participate actively here in the Facebook group, Education 4 Development: http://bit.ly/JoinE4D. Please be sure to fill out answers to the screening questions to the best of your ability so we can verify your identity. Feel free to message the UNESCO New Delhi Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/unesconewdelhi) for any questions.
