@Slayynyah Please make sure you're adding the mods to the local version of Documents, as in, the one that's stored on your hard drive, not in iCloud storage. You can see where a file or folder is located by right-clicking on it and selecting Get Info; the file path (under Where) will include Macintosh HD or iCloud.

Regardless, it's a good idea to start with a clean folder and go from there. Move the Sims 3 folder to your desktop, open the launcher to spawn a new one, create a new Mods Framework, and test. It may be easier to use the framework from Mod the Sims, since it comes with a couple of small mods that are known to work on almost any game version:

Hi, I've been playing Sims for years now but I've only been using cc and mods for about 3 years. After a recent update, about 3 weeks ago, my game completely reset. All my save files disappeared, all my mods disappeared. So I spent a whole day trying to get back as much of my cc and mods back but when I began moving them into the Mods folder, I got a pop-up saying that all of those files already exist in that folder. But since they weren't appearing in the game then I replaced the old files with the freshly downloaded ones and went into the game. I got over the fact that my save files weren't coming back and I started a brand new game with a fresh sim. But whilst in CAS I realised that only about 30% of the cc and mods I downloaded were actually in the game. Still, I got over it and just began playing, I was playing on the new save file for about 2 weeks and a new update came (yay! :/). Of course I had to download the updated versions of UI Cheats and MCCC. However, the version of MCCC that was in my game prior the update was 8.1.1, the updated version was 8.1.2. I downloaded version 8.1.2 and deleted the previous version completely off my computer. I then proceeded to open the game and was slightly surprised to see that the version of MCCC which was apparently installed was 8.1.1. (When MCCC is installed you get a pop-up after going into a household, which tells you which version you have installed.) I closed the game and quickly wanted to test out my theory. I took all my mods out of the Mods folder, and into a new folder on the desktop, and then opened my game with no mods installed, every single mod which appeared in the game a few minutes earlier was still in the game. It's like the mods are permanently stuck in the game. I feel like I've tried everything, please help.

Problem : I tried to downloading some new mods, however they did not show up in game. So I tried to see wheter the mod folder under origin games and Sims 4, was actually the folder responsible for the mods I use in my game, this I did my removing the folder and placing it on an external USB. Turns out, when I reloaded the game, my mods were still working. I have no clue what is going on, as I cannot find any other mod folder in my hard disk.. When I remove the harddisk, I cannot open the game.

@LillMopl Mods need to go in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods, not inside the game's program files. The only (safe) way to move your mods and other user data to an external drive is with a symbolic link; otherwise, the game won't know where to look for your mods.

I did get it to work. I dont know how it works, but apparently my mods folder is not located on my external harddrive, where my game is on. I have been playing with mods for many years now, and it has worked fine. When I moved my game to an external hard drive, my mods did end up working, however when I added more mods using the exact same method as I always have, it just didnt show up in game.

@LillMopl Do you still need help with this? If so, please let me know where you would like your Mods folder and other user data (saves, saved households and builds, etc.) to be located, and where it's currently located. If you want to double-check the location, here's how:

I've been playing sims but then I decided to update my mods and add new ones. after I installed them, my sims didn't launch so I went online for help and found out that it might be my mods. I took the mods file out and tried to launch it and it worked. so, I went online on forums on how to spot bad mods and removed the bad mods, but it still won't launch with the mods I have. the problem is that most of my game play was made up of the mods and I don't want to have to delete my households to start over when I spent month on them.

You've clearly got a mod issue and the only way to find which one is causing the problem is to test them. Chances are that you only have a few mods and most of what you have is CC. CC rarely causes a game launch issue so you should start with the mods first.

You will need to move your mods folder to your desktop or elsewhere on your computer out of the game path. Then create a new, empty, mods folder. Move or copy one mod into the new folder and start the game. If it launches, then quit and add another one to the folder and launch again. Rinse and repeat until you find the one stopping the game from launching. Do not save the game while you are doing the testing. Once you've found the mod stopping the game launch, either remove it or see if you can find an updated version. Don't stop until you've tested all of your mods. You may have more than one broken mod, so test them all. If you go through all your mods and don't find the problem, then look at your CC without any mods in the folder. I suggest using the 50/50 method for your CC.

One CC related thing I do know that will keep the game from launching is if you inadvertently put a TS3 CC item in your mods folder (been there, done that) so if you installed any CC just prior to the problem starting, check that CC to make sure it is for TS4.

Following the period of rest, your Sim and other Sims around them will have additional dialogue and action options based on that dream and their new feelings, including asking questions about their dream and researching what they might mean.

Made by Sacrificial mods, the zombie apocalypse mod is heavily inspired by Resident Evil, and can see your Sims become terrified or zombified. Trigger a zombie apocalypse with an incredibly cool story mechanic, then decide whether you want to survive or infect.

RoBurky returns with another mod that changes how your sim reacts to life events and personal experiences in the game. The Meaningful Stories mod ensures that your sim expresses their emotions to the people who matter or are important to them and will affect how those memories stay with them throughout their life.

For mod fans who want to get into the nitty-gritty details of playing The Sims, then check out the MC Command Center mega-mod by Deaderpool. This mod is a collection of smaller mods that give you the power to make small adjustments and tweaks to how sims live their lives.

This mod is a set of functional base game compatible brooms with converted custom animations that your Teen to Elder sims can use to sweep their house, and you do not need Bust the Dust to use this mod! I made two sets of interactions, one set is for BtD and the other BG, and the script that is included will check if you have the pack installed or not and apply the right interactions based on that.
