I'm pleased to announce the launch of the interactive online workshop:
"Managing Knowledge as an Asset" on the Learning Centre:
http://www.rmccallonline.com/classes/course/category.php?id=2

This approximately 1.5 hour interactive workshop is designed for
program managers or senior staff of victim and social service agencies
interested in learning how to identify, collect and share the
knowledge your agency develops on a daily basis. This knowledge, if
collected and tended, easily leads to the development of best
practices for use in your own agency, or which you can share with
other professionals in your field.

Workshop fee: $15 Canadian.  You'll first need to register as a
student (click on the course name to start this process); once
registered you can then sign up for the course by clicking on the
course name again.  You will be taken to an online payment system;
after paying, you will automatically be given access to the workshop
for 48 hours.

You may repeat the workshop and it's practice sessions as many times
as you like during your two day period of registration.

At present I am using the PayPal online payment system, which accepts
major credit cards (from non-PayPal members) or PayPal payments.

Workshop Description
Your staff and volunteers create new knowledge, or refine their
existing knowledge and practices, every time they interact with your
clients or perform their duties. These continually evolving knowledge
and practices can be the best practices your agency needs to provide
superior service, provided you can identify them, and capture and
transmit them to your staff and volunteers effectively.

This workshop provides the information which can allow you do this,
using only the resources you have on hand: pen, paper and your time.
Some software which can be of use is also discussed.

The course provides:
- An introduction to the practice of knowledge management and how it
is an invaluable asset to victim and social service agencies
- An interactive and multi-media introduction to theory and concepts
- A step-by-step guide to creating a knowledge management project in
small agencies with limited resources
- Interactive review and help files to assist the student during the
course
- Printable materials to help the student in remembering the major
course elements
- Automated and self-scoring testing and practice materials to help
you judge your learning development

Feel free to contact me with questions, and to pass this information
on to any person, organization or service you think might be
interested.
