Dear VANY's members,
On behalf of Oversea Vietnamese Students (OVS) and Organizer of YLDPM, I would like to introduce about the progam "Youth-Led Development Project Management" that will train 50 youth participants on knowledge, skill and experience of community project management. The program is for pupils and students are studying in Ho Chi Minh City at 11 August from 08:00AM to 12:00 PM with tea break.
Accompanying the flow of international volunteerism, the strengthening spirit of volunteerism among Vietnamese students has lead to an increasingly vibrant volunteer sector, both in terms of the quality and scope of volunteer organisations in the community. This trend finds no exception in the tertiary scene, with schooling youths becoming ever more involved in advancing community causes. However, much of this student activity has been occurring either in isolation or on a one-off basis , with individual groups focusing on their own development and looking no further ahead than the project at hand. It is to addressing this issue, that the Sharing session on Youth-led development project management has been proposed.
In addition to serving as a networking platform for student volunteers from the various tertiary institutions and informal groups, the conference also aims to function as a launch pad for fledgling student initiatives, both by giving them the skills needed to achieve sustainability, and by offering them a platform to announce their emergence onto the volunteer scene. It is with this spirit, that we adopt the theme "Student Initiatives – Be the change", for the inaugural year of the sharing session.
Objectives & Outcome
Objectives of the conference are:
✔ To develop the tertiary level community action scene.
