On behalf of Professor Naruemon, I am writing to ask your help to spread the
word about our new Scholarship Program. The program will allow qualified
individuals from Southeast Asia to study at the Master of Arts Program in
International Development Studies (MAIDS) at Chulalongkorn University for the
upcoming 2007-2008 academic year.
Here is a quick breakdown of the Scholarship Program:
1. Eligibility (8 Scholarships)
Category I: 2 scholarships are open to government or non-profit sector employees
from Thailand (2 total)
Category II: 2 scholarships are open to government employees from Vietnam (2 total)
Category III: 1 scholarship is open to government employees from each of the
following four Southeast Asian Countries:
(1) Cambodia (2) Laos (3) Indonesia (4) Philippines (4 total)
2. Scholarship Coverage
I) Living Expenses
- Roundtrip airfare (if applicable)
- Housing (5,000 baht/month)
- Food (5,000 baht/month)
II) Education Costs
- Application Fee (800 baht)
- Tuition Fees (Thai Scholar: 252,000 baht; International Scholar: 337,500 baht)
- Workshop and/or Fieldtrips (15,000 baht)
Total Scholarship Value
- Thai Scholarship: 407,800 baht/scholarship
- International Scholarship: 518,300 baht/scholarship

SIAM CEMENT Foundation Scholarships
In partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and
the International Development Studies program at Chulalongkorn University
_2 scholarships are open to government or non-profit sector employees from
Thailand (2 total)
_2 scholarships are open to government employees from Vietnam (2 total)
_1 scholarship is open to government employees from each of the following four
Southeast Asian countries:
(1) Cambodia (2) Laos (3) Indonesia (4) Philippines (4 total)
Scholarship Condition:
Following graduation, Siam Cement Foundation Scholarship awardees must return to
work for their home governments for a minimum of two years.
MAIDS
Program Requirements:
_ Bachelor degree in the Social Sciences, minimum Grade Point Average
(GPA) of 3.0;
_ 2 years work experience in a related field;
_ English Proficiency (minimum 550 TOEFL score or 5.5 IELTS score),
> Due to the time constraints, test scores from recognized language testing
centres in respective countries will also be considered.
