Subject: LAUNCHED: UNiTE campaign T-shirt design competition

Dear Working Group on Youth,

On behalf of the global UNiTE campaign Team, I am writing to let you know that the UNiTE campaign T-Shirt Design Competition has officially been launched (http://unitetshirtcompetition.org) and young men ages 18 – 25 years old are invited to use their imagination to prevent and end violence against women and girls and embody the concepts of equality, non-discrimination and respect in their designs.

Five winners selected by twenty nine regional and five global judges, and one winner chosen by the Public Vote, will travel to New York to participate in the UN official observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which will take place on 22 November this year at UN Headquarters.

UNiTE campaign teams around the world are very excited about this competition, and the aim is to involve as many young men as possible to build an online constituency of young men that can potentially engage in subsequent regional and global campaigning activities.  As an energizer and for your information, in the last 24 hours there have been 4640 visits from 57 countries and the first submission has been from Belgium!

You are invited to spread the word with your family, friends and networks and share the link to the competition website http://unitetshirtcompetition.org, via email, on your respective websites, blogs as well as  your personal Facebook or Twitter accounts.

Please note:

·         English site is alive since last week, working and can be shared and circulated widely;

·         Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese and Arabic sites will be online soon.

Best wishes,
