Just a quick update on food. Firstly, thanks to Roland, who pointed me
in So.cial's direction to see what they can do for us. So.cial gave me
an estimate on feeding ~48 people. Apparently, 10 of their large
sandwiches will do it, and it will cost the paltry sum of... $100
before tax! I've never had their sandwiches but I've great things, and
for that price it's almost a no-brainer. Maybe we'll order 11 large
sandwiches just in case we get a lot of extra people showing up. It
sounds like a large sandwich will comfortably feed 5 people.
The only thing is that the order needs to placed by 11am tomorrow
morning, so if you have preferences for kinds of sandwiches or other
commentary on the choice of the food, please reply or call me at 604
719 4877 ASAP!
I also looked at Potluck Catering; 45 sandwiches/wraps was looking in
the ballpark of $250, which is perhaps a little out of our budget.
Beverages-wise, a friend and I are going to walk a case of 36 juices
from Costco to WorkSpace - I figure this will be the most economical.
Along with other snackies, I think we might able to keep food under
$200.
Other considerations? Paper plates, napkins, cups of water....I'm
going to ask WorkSpace if they have any plate/utensil options, b/c
it'd be nice to not have to deal with disposal. If the answer's no,
then I'll pick those up from Costco as well. I'll make a note for
people to bring water bottles if they like to stay hydrated, in the
reminder tonight.
I'm also thinking of doing a Staples run tomorrow, when I've thought
of what to get. I've already got sharpies, masking tape and lined
paper for grid-session.
Will keep you all posted!
