AUGH

OK, so I was interviewed by the Vancouver Courier about TransitCamp
and they might be / are running a story on it for Friday's paper. (I
blame Paul, he gave them my number. :D)

I expressed some of what was in my blog post about being irrelevant.
Told them the history of Toronto TransitCamp/BarCamp, how I came to
starting organizing it, the open space self-organizing stuff, bringing
TransLink into it and making it a positive environment. I think I
didn't include tech stuff into it, which can both be a good and a bad
thing. Blah. It's done and I'm sure she picked up the parts of it that
she wanted.

I also said the date might be changing, depending on whether the
Climate Change Day of Action is a really big issue for a lot of people
coming (it'd suck if everyone left at 12 or something to go the
central library, heh). I've asked about this in the facebook invite,
so hopefully we'll get yays/nays either way. Again, I know the 8th was
also a bit soon for TransLink's taste as well.

OK, going to go back to writing about social capital. I'm so not media-savvy :P

Isn't a transit camp _supporting_ not conflicting the idea of a day of
action for climate change?

Luke,

That's an excellent point, I hadn't thought of it that way. Maybe we
don't look like a big group of people on the news practicing what most
people conceive of as 'democracy in action'.....even though that's
what we sorta are? ;)

We're action in action. (Hopefully).
