Just sharing some news and my task-list for tomorrow, as per usual ;)
- Amelia from TransLink got back to me, and we can count on 3
TransLink staff members to attend. I've met and talked to two of them,
Paul and Dan; Peggy gave me a call today to inquire about the format,
and I directed her to the wiki since I was watching presentations this
afternoon.
- I sent out an email to our friendly at Google Transit.
- Would someone (maybe Luke or Dustin, since you already have access
to the Facebook event) be able to send out a quick reminder to the
Transit Camp attendees for Thursday? I was thinking such a reminder
e-mail might include:
- link to instructions on how to get to WorkSpace, and let them know
they need to buzz.
- I think a link to some of the brainstorming on the wiki, if people
are wondering how else to prepare
- Also, a gentle prod to tell everyone they know about the event? ;)
- I will be asking Bill and Dane about their accomodations for flip
charts and projectors.
- On the issue of food: I must admit reluctance at serving pizza, I
take ideological exception to refined flour and cheese when it's not a
birthday party.
Our current budget sees us with about $50 left over (after venue and
website) to throw towards food and miscellanea, and we might hope for
a couple hundred dollars of donations after that. Our attendees list
on Facebook is at 33 Confirmed and 25 maybes, and there might be a
Facebook-wiki sync difference of 5-10 people. So I'll hunt around to
do some research on food and bevvies for ~70 people on the cheap that
isn't pizza.
If anyone has any friends that do catering, please send their deets my way! ;)
