OK, this is where the social web really starts to mess with me. I was
asked to send a news release about Transit Camp to an editor of 24
Hours for consideration for an article about Transit Camp. (News
releases imply something that hasn't happened yet, yet here I am
talking to you guys all about it...? I'll get over this.)
In light of Drew Snider's comments to Cheryl that were included in the
Vancouver Courier article, I've heard a note dropped here or there
that there are at least a couple of TransLink staff that are going to
try and make it, even if they aren't there in an "official" TransLink
capacity (as Paul has stated they might).
My proposal: let's let TransLink know that their staff are definitely
still invited to come even if media relations has said that nobody
will, and reiterate that this is a unique opportunity for them to hear
things from the public that TransLink themselves haven't asked for,
and to conduct different kinds of conversations that they might not
otherwise have during their usual public consultations. Let's do this
in the news release to 24 Hour.
Oh, and dare I invoke any Toronto-Vancouver comparisons by mentioning
Adam Giambrone and his support of Toronto Transit Camp? ;)

I think this is an excellent approach.
