MICHELLE Rocca has given Van Morrison a brown-eyed
girl. Aibhe Rocca Morrison was born in Dublin seven
months ago.

Michelle, 45, kept the pregnancy a secret by wearing
baggy woolly jumpers and big frumpy dresses.
How Michelle and the world-famous singer kept the
birth of their child under wraps for seven months is a
testament to hermetic Van's intense aversion to
publicity.

Van and Miche1le are private to the point of
clandestine about their personal business. They are
rarely seen in public around Dublin. Michelle is
seldom lured out of her Killiney cocoon - and now we
know why.

The former Miss Ireland did attend Charles J Haughey's
funeral on June 16 in Dublin. In July, she accompanied
Van when he was the headline attraction at the
Midlands music festival in Ballinlough Castle, Co
Meath.

She looked beautiful but unusually fuller of figure at
both events. (She became Ireland's most glamorous
granny in 2002 when her daughter Danielle gave birth
to a baby girl, Alannah.)

Those who have seen Aibhe say the baby is a ringer for
her famous father. Some say that fatherhood has
transformed Morrison as a man. His face is no longer
sullen as the Belfast sky. He is the happiest dad in
the world. Van also has a grown-up daughter, Shanna
(who has recorded duets with him on the Days Like This
and A Night in San Francisco CDs), by his American
ex-wife Janet Minto , aka Janet Planet
