Hi all,
Several really cool things are happening in the next couple of weeks that I wanted to remind you about:

1) This weekend:
A: Saturday, 9/19: Monthly forest garden tour at my place in Lawton at 10am, e-mail me off-list or call for directions, contact info is in that link. I have some plants available for trade or sale. FREE to attend.

Sunday 9/20 you have two great options:
B: The monthly Food Forest Garden tour at Mike and Kim's Lillie House in Kzoo, mid-afternoon (e-mail or call Mike for exact start time and directions). FREE to attend.
C: Tillers International's wonderful annual Harvest Fest in Scotts, MI (always a day of fun, learning, community and good food). 11:30 to 5:30. VKP will not have a booth this year (nobody contacted us and I forgot about it until it was too late, but it's a really, really good event). $15 per carload entry fee, free for bicyclists.

2) Next weekend:
A: Saturday, 9/26 (all day): Southern Michigan Perma-Mixer!  Held at the WMU Gibbs House on Parkview at Drake. Tour the property, have lots of fun and make some connections with permies doing wonderful work throughout the lower peninsula and beyond! Potluck lunch, optional free film screening of "Inhabit" in the evening. This is the first time the event is being held on our side of the state, so let's make it great and represent SW Michigan well! I hope many of you will attend and lend a hand if needed. FREE to attend.

B: Sunday 9/27 (all day) Companion class on Garden Farming: Designing a Permaculture Homestead with Peter Bane (author of the Permaculture Handbook and long-time publisher of Permaculture Activist magazine). Held at Lillie House property in downtown Kalamazoo, sure to be an incredible day of learning. $85 tuition, includes lunch. Money well spent, I don't think you'll regret it.

3) In general news, Mike has kindly created a Meetup.com group for VKP, to reach more folks who might not find us otherwise. Please join us on there, especially if you're already on Meetup and/or don't play Facebook. That's all for now, hope to see lots of you at some or all of these events soon!
