కాకినాడలో 1852 లో ఒక మాధ్యమిక పాఠశాల, 1866 లో ఉన్నత పాఠశాల, 1994 లో కళాశాల స్థాయి సంతరించుకున్న పి. ఆర్. కాలేజీ 1997 లో యూనివర్సిటీ గ్రాంట్స్ కమిషన్ వారి ఆదేశాల ప్రకారం P.R. Junior College & P.R. Degree College అనే రెండు స్వయం ప్రతిపత్తి (autonomous) విద్యాసంస్థలు తీర్చిదిద్దబడి, ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ఎంతో మంచి పేరు గడిస్తున్న సంగతి మీకు తెలిసినదే.
నేను ఇటీవల కాకినాడలో సందర్శించిన పి.ఆర్. జూనియర్ కాలేజీ లో ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్నత స్థాయి విద్యాభ్యాసం చేస్తున్న 1300 మంది విద్యార్ధులలో అధిక శాతం బడుగు, బీద వర్గాలకు చెందిన వారు అయినా, రాష్ట్రస్థాయి పరీక్షల్లో వారి ఉత్తీర్ణత అత్యధిక స్థాయికి చేరుకుంది. I am happy to report that under the very efficient and committed leadership of Principal Dr. Rambabu, P.R. Junior College started a new initiative to enhance its already well-known training center which prepares the students for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, EAPCET for science students and CLAT, CUET for Arts students. A brand-new building was built to host the new Training Facility with an intensive coaching curriculum on par with private college students. The proposed Training Center requires 20 units of Fully Operational Computer Lab Equipment. Each unit which costs about $500 each includes a state-of-the-art desktop computer, all the cables and a table. This is the first of its kind training center to be selected and permitted for in a government college in the State of Andhra Pradesh based on the college’s accomplishments in the field of training students. For example, in the last two years, a student of HEC became the state topper, a BIPC graduated as a district topper, one student received the coveted Pratibha Puraskar from A.P. Govt and several students got admitted to engineering, pharmacy and agricultural degree courses.

సుమారు 20 మంది విద్యార్థులు కూర్చుని ఉన్నత స్థాయి కంప్యూటర్ ట్రైనింగ్ పొందడానికి అత్యవసర సదుపాయాలు సమకూర్చవలసిన బాధ్యతలతో ఆ కళాశాల యాజమాన్యం సతమవుతూ ఇబ్బంది పడుతున్నారు. దేశ విదేశాలలో ఉన్న మీ వంటి వదాన్యుల ముందస్తు ఆశీస్సులతో తగిన విరాళాల సేకరణ బాధ్యత మా లాభాపేక్షలేని వంగూరి ఫౌండేషన్ ఆఫ్ అమెరికా సంస్థ చేపట్టింది. ఇది వరలో మీ సహాయ సహకారాలతో మా బృందం అదే పి.ఆర్. జూనియర్ కాలేజ్ ప్రాంగణంలో రూ. 20 లక్షల వ్యయంతో క్వాడ్ఱాంగిల్ హాల్, కాలేజ్ ముఖద్వారం, ఉచిత మధ్యాహ్న భోజన పథకం, పి.ఆర్. డిగ్రీ కాలేజ్ ప్రాంగణంలో లేడీస్ హాస్టల్ లో బంక్ బెడ్ ల సౌకర్యం, కొత్త భవనాలకు 300 పాఠశాల బెంచీలు మొదలైన అనేక సంక్షేమ కార్యక్రమాలు, భవనాల పునర్నిర్మాణం దిగ్విజయంగా పూర్తి చేసిన సంగతి మీకు తెలిసినదే.
ఇప్పుడు ఆ పి.ఆర్. జూనియర్ కాలేజీలో కాకినాడ పరిసర ప్రాంతాల నుంచి వచ్చి చదువు కుంటూ, రాష్ట్ర, దేశవ్యాప్త పోటీ పరీక్షల్లో విజయం సాధించడానికి అత్యవసరమైన Computer Training Center లో అత్యవసరమైన 20 units of “Fully Operational Computer Lab Equipment” కొనుగోలుకి మీ ఆర్ధిక సహాయం అర్థిస్తున్నాం. తరాల తరబడి అనేక మంది బీద, బడుగు వర్గాలకు చెందిన విద్యార్ధులకి ఉన్నత స్థాయి విద్యావకాశాలు కలిగించే ఈ శిక్షణా కేంద్రం వ్యవస్థాపనకు మీరు ఇచ్చే విరాళం శాశ్వతంగా విద్యాదాన సేవలు అందించే ప్రాణ వాయువు గా నిలుస్తుంది.
