As you know, the 2014 MSTP Retreat is a one-day event to be held on Saturday, June 28^th that will end around 5:00PM. The rising G3 class, who is organizing this year’s retreat, has decided to try something new to help bring each of the classes together. This year, the MSTP will provide funding for each class to host their own dinner or social following the retreat. The style of the event is your choice: restaurant vs. grill or cater at someone’s home vs. social event somewhere. Groups of classes are also welcome to co-host something together. The MSTP will cover up to a certain amount ($15/person attending). We think this will be a great opportunity for you to bring your classmates together and reflect on the past year.

 

To help with the planning of these dinners, we are asking that 1-2 people from each class volunteer to serve as the organizers. They will be responsible for organizing their class and working with me to plan the event.  If you are interested, or if you have questions, please email me by the end of next week. I apologize for the short turnaround time to get these organized, but I have faith in each of you that we can make this work.

I ran into Melissa yesterday and she asked what our class wanted to do about dinner. I don't mind coordinating with her if we need a point person, but wondering what y'all want to do? Cook out at someone's house (ahem...Tony?)...? Just make it easy and use the money to go out to din?

I don't know what to cook so I wouldn't be much help there. I vote going out too! Pinewood social could be fun - never been there but down to try anything new! They so take reservations so as long as we call ahead I think were good. Only caveat being entrees are around 17 so we'd have to pay a bit more on our own just fyi.

Ok, thanks for the quick replies!

I've been wanting to try Pinewood Social also -- could be fun! I just called about a reservation and they said that for parties over 8, they usually seat them in the bowling lanes...so apparently there's a big U-shaped booth and you get that + 1 or 2 bowling lanes and you can either eat and bowl or do both at the same time...maybe you don't have to bowl...sounds like an adventure.

I got the email of the person who does reservations so I'll check in with her and see about cost.

In the mean time, feel free to throw out other suggestions if you have them!

Yeah they don't take reservations -- thought about that. Worry a little bit about that with such a large group. Same with Jackson's although the wait shouldn't be too bad there -- I agree with that as a backup!

I've called around a few other places and will keep you posted/can make an executive decision but just wanted to let y'all know to send me ideas if you have them!

What's our number? Email me if you can't make it or if you're bringing a significant other so that I have an accurate count!
