I'm trying to apply a patch using opatch but I'm getting this error: "OPatch was not able to find OUI jars to load them runtime. Please provide valid oui location using 'oui_loc' option. OPatch failed with error code 255".
Even though I have the ORACLE_HOME and PATH set correctly in my environmental variables, I also set them at the command prompt. Before I proceed I shut down Oracle, all associated services, and MS Distributed Transaction Coordinator. My code:
I've Googled this, no luck. Searched to forums, seems everyone who has encountered error code 1 did not correctly set their ORACLE_HOME. But unless I'm blinded by tiredness (which is possible) I'm not seeing any errors in my home or path variables. Any suggestions as to why this might be occurring, or what possible work around there may be would be appreciated.
I am trying to write a script that automates opatch, but before I get into the actual scripting I want to test the commands directly through the command prompt. My oracle home is C:\oracle\Middleware, and my patch 23094292 folder is located in the Middleware folder. Here are the commands I am using to apply the patch:
ZOP-51: The patch location is not valid for apply, because it doesn't have correct metadata, or it points to a patch directory.Argument(s) Error... Patch location is not valid for applyPlease check the arguments and try again.OPatch failed with error code = 135
Shouldn't oracle home be the valid patch location? I am not too familiar with Oracle's product's, so I'm not certain. Please let me know if I can provide any further information. Any help explaining what I am doing wrong would be greatly appreciated.

C:\Builds\PatchingExample\Upgraded\PatchingExample.mspI receive this errorFailed to create Patch. Error Code 0xC00E5116Anyone know what this means? Also, can anyone comment on
the value of a tool like install shield or Wyse? Do they
significantly reduce the complexity of patch creation?
Seems like you have compressed upgraded/target images. Try creating the
patch using using -l option while executing the Msimsp.exe binary. This
will give you a log file that can be used to debug the problem. Here is a url that is really useful for you to detect the cause of the
problems if you have the error code : =/library/en-us/msi/setup/return_values_for_uicreatepatchpackage.asp
I haven't used those tools and it might be inappropriate for me to
comment on those. But my feel is that these tools are useful to create
simple patches. The more the complexity that you have with your patches
(like superseding, backup, build automation ..etc.) you might as well
start writing a tool of your own :)

I'm getting an error when patching a SharePoint list from a PowerApp with little to no information to work off of. The only message is "Network Error when using Patch function: The requested operation is invalid". I dug into the Error object and found a code of 8, which I believe corresponds to ErrorKind.ConstraintViolation (One or more constraints have been violated).
I have narrowed down the error to a multiple-select Person or Group column in my SharePoint list called "Operators". When I comment that column out, the Patch is successful. When it's included, I get the error above. The worst part is, I have successfully patched to a Person or Group column in a different SharePoint list, but this one fails.
The operators_select.SelectedItems is a Office365Users table. I need to add the "Claims", "Email", and "Picture" columns in order to avoid Table schema errors. Before attempting the Patch, no errors/warnings show up. Like I said, this strategy has worked successfully in another SharePoint list with this column type. I've scoured settings and haven't found any differences yet.
I was experiencing the same problem. After lots of trial and error i discovered that problem was that I was validating the data from SP list settings -> Validation settings, After removing the validation from list and keeping validation only in the app patch worked.
@v-xiaochen-msft sorry this is random, but I am facing a similar issue. I am new to powerapps and would appreciate if you could explain about -"'Mail' column of each record has a value rather than blank." I did not quite understand. Thanks.
Say you have a other tools such as Microsoft ConfigMgr which you may configures updates to come from a WSUS server, if the files necessary for other components is not on the WSUS server, that error can arise. I found a posting on a forum by searching on the error code and it gives some links you can follow to apply change that may allow the update to install. -server-2019-error-0x800f0984.3836/

install the patch manually on these devices and see what error your getting, I agree that eventlog/bigfix logs might give some info but you will have to convert to hex value to see what error code means, installing it manually with switches following the process might give you some additional info

Hello, I am trying to apply CPU to an 11g database. And I am receiving the following error: Recommended actions: OPatch needs to modify files which are being used by some processes. OPatch failed with error code = 41 We are applying CPU Patch for January 2013. The N-able N-central agent uses the Microsoft Windows Update Agent (WUA) as a basic component of Patch Management. The WUA scans and monitors for any software or hardware dependencies, keeps track of superseded Windows updates and other issues that need to be resolved before or during a scan and install.
Due to the extensiveness of this operation, the WUA can malfunction during updates. This can be a temporary issue that stalls the software, and the next scan runs without errors. If it is a persistent problem, manual intervention is needed to fix the WUA component.
N-able N-central monitors the health of the WUA component to ensure that there is a smooth patch management process. This monitoring includes a mechanism to install critical WUA updates automatically, a performance enhancement for the WUA scan, and an enhanced WUA status check using a new threshold. Patch Status service reports also include additional information for troubleshooting.
Microsoft is continually improving the WUA component and the update process in Windows. If you encounter an issue with the WUA, use the Microsoft Troubleshooter at -us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors. It walks you through steps to fix problems for common error codes when installing updates.
The error message "(0x80004005): The RPC server is unavailable" indicates an issue when communicating through named pipes on device. A potential reason for this issue is due to antivirus software or other security application blocking communication between the N-able N-central agent and the n-able.MSP.RpcServer windows service.
If the output contains these entries, it means that PME services are up and running and are listening to incomming requests. If it doesn't contain these entries, then it means that there is some issue with the n-able.MSP.RpcServer windows service.
This can be an environmental problem. For example, this error can occur when the WUA is having difficulty connecting to the update server. Check your firewall, anti-virus, and proxy setting to ensure that the site is reachable from the device.
A timeout error occurs when the WUA does not finish a scan within a predefined amount of time. The default is 30 minutes. The N-able N-central agent forcibly aborts the scan. This can be due to a slow connection, long scan times or resource issues on the device. To resolve this error:
See the following table that shows the exit codes, the possible root cause for the Windows patch failure, and possible solutions to fix the issue. To know how to view the exit code details, refer to Viewing Patch Failure Error Code Details.
While installing the MS Office updates that utilize the Click-to-Run technology for some versions, such as some Office 2016, all Office 2019, and later, or Office365/Microsoft 365, OfficeC2RClient.exe must be utilized to trigger the update. This is handled by the \"noop.exe\" process, which calls the OfficeC2RClient.exe process with various switches. In some cases, if this process doesn't execute successfully, the security controls return the 1603 error.
