Who's available for a button making lesson from Youthco on Friday,
between 10am and 5pm?

They are charging us $10 per 100 buttons, so that person will need to
pick up:

1. Box of .5 inch buttons, they will charge us when we're done.
2. Button maker.

We need scissors!
I'll update the button designs to a button art thread. Please upload
your own designs too!

Button making will work at 4ish pm Saturday. Location TBA.

If no one picks this up, we won't be able to grab them until Monday.

Where do they need to be picked up from, and for clarification is this a Forum or a Femininjas thing? I can't guarantee anything as my car is in the shop from noon till whenever they're finished fixing it (they said three hours and I'm an hour out of town), but I could *try* to get downtown early and pick these up if no one else can.

I'm certainly up for the actual button making. I have my own scissors I can bring, but that's only one pair.

I'm going to be at Granville and Hastings for a short work thing at
10:00a.m. Friday and then need to head back to East Van. for another
work thing, then I have a thing at 1:00pm. So I could pick stuff up
downtown in the morning and drop it somewhere else in the afternoon if
that's helpful, but I won't have time for a button making lesson if I
pick stuff up in the morning. I'd need the full address and any other
necessary details plus ideally the closest cross street as I still get
a bit lost in Vancouver at times. Just let me know before about
09:30a.m. Friday and I can handle pick up.

If Youthco is "Youthco AIDS", Google says they're downtown at 900 Helmecken at Hornby. Somebody correct me if this is wrong. Shannon, if you handle pickup in the morning I can stop by your place in the evening (6 pm or 9 pm) and pick the stuff up if that works. It doesn't solve the dilemma that if we do it this way none of us will know how this machine works though. Is anyone else free in early afternoon? Bueller? Bueller?

K, no problem. I will grab the stuff after my 10am and then you can
pick it up at 6pm at my place Emily.

If it's the sort of button maker I'm thinking of, a manual type, they
are not very complicated. I watched a friend make buttons with one
once. I bet there are videos on youtube or other how-to's online
somewhere. If the lesson by YouthCo is just a quick demo, as opposed
to a lengthy thing, then I can probably take that in and try to
re-enact it for you when you pick it up later Emily. I probably won't
be there for the button making itself on Saturday.

Would it be possible to drop  it by Kate's place?  She lives at the Glamhaus 1616 East Second Ave.  Maybe you could drop it on their porch?  Saves us a ride out to Surrey.

Thanks!

My number is 604-842-4486 if you have any questions.  I'll be asleep between 9am-5pm.

I'm standing by until 930 and if Kat hasn't indicated a pref for
couriering by then and supplied the info, I'll pick the stuff up and
the drop off is only a few blocks from my place.

heading to Youthco by about 1030h or so.

@ Shannon---->yes, feel free to drop it on my porch in east van. (1616 east second, between commercial and cotton)

@ Emily---> this is definitely a forum related venture...it's to make promotional material for VTF to fundraise with :)

I now have the buttons stuff from Youthco and will drop it on Kate's
porch. It would be better though if someone could actually take it
inside. There's a fair bit of gear here and I wouldn't want it to get
ripped off by a passerby.

Hey Shannon,

Two of my three roomies are home right now (I'm not) so just knock and I'm sure they will be glad to take it off your hands.

Thanks so much for picking it up!

Just a note to confirm that the button making gear was dropped off at
Kate's c/o Fancy and Fiver a bit before 1pm today. inside the box is
a purple post-it with contact info for Cori (sp) from Youthco, who
should be contacted in case of difficulties or problems acc. to Kelly,
the ED of Youthco.

Happy button making!

We did somewhere around 250 to 280 in the space of two hours, we got a seriously efficient production line going once we figured out how the machine worked. There are 280 to 300 more to go from the sheets Kat printed off so far.
