hi folks, thought id start this thread, hope thats ok?

im thinking about the various things that need to be purchased and
brought to the forum...

i asked about the scent free soap, but havent beard back about getting
reimbursed or how many i should pick up (either that or i just cant
find the convo!).
can someone let me know how many bottles i should get? i think at
least two (for the w/c access bathrooms). They about $5.50 each, and
i'll need to gettem soon!

Also, are flipchart paper and scent-free markers being provided for
the workshops?

Thanks!

Hi Romham,

In regards to the scent free markers, good thought, I am not sure.   I know there are markers in most of the rooms.  I can check if they are scent free.  if not, we may have to supply them ourselves.

Corey

Hey Romham,

May as well purchase 4 of them...for all 4 bathrooms.

You will be reimbursed, just keep the receipt.

Not sure about the flip chart paper....hmmm.  Any idea where we can get scent free markers at?

Cheers:
Kate

Actually, given that we are down to the wire now time-wise, I'm just
going to go ahead and get this stuff. I'll get flip chart paper for
four spaces, so that there is one for the door and any other uses that
may arise, in addition to the three rooms/workshop spaces. I'll also
get the scent-free markers and some masking tape for putting up
flipchart sheets on the walls.

If these materials are already being provided, no biggie, the
community can use the ones I buy today at future events, I'm sure.

I cant remember if someone specifically took this on or not:
color coding wrist bands identifying people who do not want their pictures/video/taken?

wristbands. possibly just some vinyl flagging tape or something like
that...I'll see what's available on my trip out.

Hi all,

I checked the balance of the TAS account the Forum is using, and things are looking up. The pool, the park and reimbursement for the march insurance are all getting paid today; still pending that I can recall off the top of my head are reimbursement for the portapotties, Dani's printing and the remainder of the college rental. (Also a receipt for $9.00 from Coastal Food Market on Commercial Drive which I was handed at the last meeting but neglected to write down from whom or why. Bad Emily.)

In the interests of beginning to tie up loose ends before the next TAS meeting's financial report, what else am I missing here?

I picked up the following items:

Flipchart pads x3 (just the pad)

Flipchart pad with cardboard table-top easel (for possible use at door
for daily announcements, or for other uses?)

Low-odour dry-erase markers x10 (I could only find low odour markers
for dry erase boards, not for paper, so they will get used up and run
out much more quickly, but hopefully that'll be enough to get us
through the weekend.)

Masking tape (x4 rolls)

Flagging tape ( x1 roll in bright yellow for possible use as
wristbands by those who don't wish to be photographed or videotaped at
the venue.)

Small, office-type First Aid kit to have at venue for any major boo-boos etc.

Box of band-aids for paper cuts or the like.

Any of this stuff that the Forum doesn't approve as expenditures will
be covered by myself, no problem.

I don't know personally romham, as I have never been to the venue. I
took the opportunity to price them while at Staples, but for something
flipchart sized it was pretty cost-prohibitive and I also thought
there could be a problem with mounting them on walls, and that would
necessitate easels. Whiteboards in flipchart size were ~ 50 bucks or
more a pop compared to 10 bucks a pop for flip chart pads. Easels for
flip charts were about 25 a pop minimum, easels for whiteboards more
into the 75-100 bucks plus range each. I think it'll be cheaper to
use the paper pads and tape paper to walls and to just chew through
the low odour markers at a fast rate. If we find we need more markers
for Sunday 'cuz we've blown through the 10 on Saturday, we can always
pick up more. they are fairly inexpensive. I did pick up the one
flip chart with the cardboard easel/stand, which may be good for
certain uses as long as there is a table to put it on.

One other nice thing about using paper is that we can save the stuff
for later transcribing or reference, rather than erasing stuff as we
go. One day, maybe the sheets will be stored in the Canadian Trans
Archives. Oh right, we don't have one of those. yet. ;)

As far scent free markers.  i could only find one low scent marker.  so buying some may be a good idea.
Flip chart paper:  well there is some available but I am not sure how much will be used compared to what is available.  so it may be the best if we even purchased a couple things of flip chart paper to be safe.

As far as the playcards go, if we have them out side we may want a volunteer with the supplies or have it at the bbq.

anyway, those are my thoughts.

Corey

There is a dry erase board in rm 2 and 3 and not in the ball room.  There are flip chart stands and I believe Shannon purchased some flipchart paper.

i could not find scent free markers for white boards or using on paper.

I did buy a portable bbq and cylinders. Not sure about park rules on using it at nelson tho. Will check.

For the cooks- i have two crock pots- to loan - plus one large stock pot too. Can some one get back to me on what is needed? Or please send my info to those in charge of food. Thanks.

I've now received my credit card bill for the portapotty rental.
Shall I email you a scan with the item highlighted Emily, and expect a
cheque to be mailed to me? Or do you wish to see the original? How
shall we do this?

thanks,

Hi Shannon,

An emailed scan of the bill will do nicely. Then Marie and I can get you the cheque early next week.

Thanks Emily. sorry for not getting it to you yet. I'll take care of
that tonight.

Did TAS or anyone receive an invoice or letter from the City?

thanks,

Marie checked TAS' mail on Monday, I checked my PO Box this afternoon in case anything was sent to me instead. There was nothing to report from the city on either front.

If we're doing a debriefing at any point on the near future (not so critical given the lack of response from the city), I should note that I'm going to be out of town for a month beginning Monday August 30th. I can send a financial report in my absence if needed.
