"The Hit" bought his ticket to Vancouver at the Toronto Bus Depot on Bay Street. He spent the last of the money from the town drunks estate to get back to Vancouver. The bus pulled out of Toronto at 12:30 rolling past Yorkdale, Laurentian University, to arrive in Sudbury for a one hour stop at 17:30pm in the evening. "The Hit" saw several of the Mysterious Financier's support, however he took the chance to buy donuts near the bus depot using his dwindling cash. "The Hit" didn't bother trying to avoid the hazing by the Mysterious Financier in Sudbury, and "the boys" in Sudbury may remember "The Hit" before the package is lost. He knew this would follow him back to Vancouver. Once again "The Hit" searched for the Mysterious Financier in his past in 1975.
The 14 year old "Hit" boarded the racing greyhound in Dryden Ontario heading for Ridgedale Saskatchewan on July 14. He had finished his last year of school in the Oxdrift Public School, and he planned attend the Dryden High School to start Grade 9 in the fall. He left Dryden at 03:10 heading through Vermilion Bay and Kenora to arrive in Winnipeg at 07:20 in the morning. He waited in the Winnipeg Bus Depot until 09:00 before boarding for the Yellowhead Highway route. The bus continued through Brandon, Minnedosa, Erickson, Onanole, Clear Lake, Dauphin, Gilbert Plains, Grandview, Roblin, and the Manitoba / Saskatchewan border. "The Hit" could not imagine the origin of the Mysterious Financier from this trip in the past. Yet, he had definitely seen the Mysterious Financier in Sudbury in 1998.
"The Hit" left Sudbury at 19:00 to charge through the darkness past Copper Cliff, Naughton, Whitefish, Nairn Centre, McKerrow, Espanola, Webbwood, Massey, Spanish, Serpent River, Spragge, Blind River, Iron Bridge, Thessalon, Bruce Mines, Desbarats, Echo Bay, and Garden River before the passengers took a break in Sault Ste Marie at 23:25 where "The Hit" stayed on the bus. They continued from Sault Ste Marie to pass Wawa, White River, Marathon, Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Nipigon, Dorion, and Pearl before arriving in Thunder Bay at 08:40 in the morning. Once again the Mysterious Financier had "the boys" primed up before the package was lost. "The Hit" stayed inside the Thunder Bay Bus Depot. He decided not to eat at this point to save the last of his money, and he cleaned himself up in the restroom. The question remained who was the Mysterious Financier? Why did the Mysterious Financier finance Jimmy The Junkie and his crew? Why was the Mysterious Financier going all out to get The Hell's Angels involved? Who is the Mysterious Financier? "The Hit" flashed to his past.
In 1974 "The Hit" continued on the Yellowhead Highway to Yorkton. He switched busses, and he continued through Ebenezer, Canora, Buchanan, Rama, Invermay, Margo, Kuroki, Kylemore, Wadena, and Quill Lake. He thought of The Pioneers as the bus continued on through Watson, Spalding, Naicam, and Pleasantdale before finally arriving in Melfort at 20:25 in the evening on July 15 TH 1975. Leo and the town drunk picked up "The Hit" in Melfort. The town drunk had traded the GM Half ton for a new Ford Van. They stopped by Trawn Seeds on the way to Ridgedale where "The Hit" lived in the bunk house. "The Hit" snuck as many beers as he could that week. Leo, "The Hit", and the town drunk spent the rest of the week on Healy's farm in Ridgedale. The origin of the Mysterious Financier did not appear to be Ridgedale. Meanwhile, the bus jarred out of Thunder Bay in 1998 where the Mysterious Financier was present.
The bus left Thunder Bay at 09:45 with "The Hit" intact in the rear seat. The bus started the long crawl through Kakabeka Falls, Upsala, Ignace, Wabigoon, Dryden, and Vermilion Bay to finally arrive in Kenora at 15:10 on February 1 ST 1998. "The Hit" decided to take a walk to find a cheap sandwich in Kenora. He found a little coffee shop a few block from the bus depot. While he waited for his sandwich he had a coffee. He had now put together some of what seamed to be the Mysterious Financier's family. The woman with dark hair began talking to another women who seamed familiar in clothing, logo's, and appearance. The woman with dark hair was talking about her sister with cancer. They were eerily familiar, and they seamed to want the whole coffee shop to know. "The Hit" was starting to realize that the Mysterious Financier was actually a family. "The Hit" paid for his sandwich, and he returned to the safety of the bus. Could this cancer have something to do with the Mysterious Financier's family? "The Hit" thought back to Ridgedale in 1975 where Leo, "The Hit", and the town drunk went to St. Brieux for the weekend of July 19 TH and 20 TH.
St. Brieux remembered the town drunks son in 1975. "The Hit" figured that would never wash off. The empty shell was still empty. Leo had earned money since starting work at Healy's. He was able to buy a 1969 Firebird SS from his cousin Gilbert. The engine had overheated and seized the block. There was also a small canyon in the drivers side door. They pulled the car back to Ridgedale where Leo would work on the car. "The Hit" started to work odd jobs at Healy's the next week. Then came the call from his mother on July 25 TH. Harvey's run would continue. Harvey sold the old house trailer to Rankowsky. His mother, Harvey, and Lorraine were on another run. Meanwhile, "The Hit" took his bearings outside of Winnipeg in 1998.
In February 1998, "The Hit" returned to the bus safely with the question of Cancer on his mind. The passengers loaded before contining past the Ontario / Manitoba border to arrive in Winnipeg at 18:10 for a 50 minute break. The Mysterious Financier had plowed the road again in Winnipeg. It seamed that "the boys" were coming to just have a look at "The Hit" in Winnipeg. Yet, the hazing was still dominated by the Mysterious Financier's regular men, women, and children. "The Hit" could notice additional people separately now. These additional people were being setup for something. The question was what? What could the Mysterious Financier's family have ready for the boys? Why would "the boys" be so interested in a note about junkies and home invasions. The Mysterious Financier's con just brought up more questions as the bus left Winnipeg at 19:00 on February 1 ST 1998. He searched for the Mysterious Financier in his past once again for a family he could have wronged?
Telus Bells rang on the Healy farm early in August 1975, and Harvey's run from the twins had found "The Hit" a new home. They pulled out of Oxdrift with the Ford Station wagon and the Ford crew cab pulling the horses and their worldly possessions. Harvey's 1269 km run took the Trans Canada Highway through Vermilion Bay, Kenora, Clearwater Bay, Granite Lake, Moth Lake, and McMunn before arriving in Winnipeg. Harvey ran from the twins on the Trans Canada Highway through Headingley, Portage La Prairie, MacGregor, Austin, Brandon, Virden, Moosomin, Whitewood, Indian Head and Regina. Harvey, Lorraine, and "The Hit's" mother pulled the horses on the Trans Canada Highway through Moose Jaw, Chaplin, Herbert, Waldeck and Swift Current. They continued west on the Trans Canada to Gull Lake where they turned south on the Highway # 37 to Shaunavon. "The Hit" did not ask why Harvey wanted Shaunavon. He didn't care.
Telus Bells went silent, and "The Hit" snapped back to the present. The crawl to Vancouver continued through Winnipeg to Brandon for a 15 minute stop where "The Hit" saw some of the boys showing their support for the Mysterious Financier during a 15 minute break at 22:00 in Louis Reil's lost land. The bus continued through Griswold Jct East, Oak Lake, Virden, Elkhorn, to the Manitoba / Saskatchewan border at midnight. They plowed through the prairie winter passing Moosomin and Whitewood to arrive in Regina for a break at 01:35 on February 2 ND 1998. "The Hit" stayed on the bus. He just assumes the Mysterious Financier's crew did their con game in Regina? The bus continued on to Moose Jaw, Swift Current, Gull Lake, and the Maple Creek Jct before crossing the Saskatchewan / Alberta border. How many towns had the Mysterious Financier conned?
"The Hit" stayed on the bus for his safety now. He thought it would be difficult for the Mysterious Financier to kill him inside of the bus. It was obvious that was what the Mysterious Financier was instigating the boys to do. "The Hit" rode the Greyhound nervously now through Medicine Hat, Suffield, Tilley, Brooks, Bassano, Cluny Jct, Gleichen, Hussar Jct, Strathmore, and finally Calgary at 11:50 in the morning. "The Hit" stayed in the bus depot during the 1 hour break. During the trip to Toronto and on this return trip he had come to identify the Mysterious Financier's family. It was definitely a family working Jimmy The Junkie and his Crew. It was definitely a family setting up the Hell's Angels. Calgary would have once again seen the Mysterious Financier in action. The question is for what?
The bus continued from Calgary through Canmore, Banff, Castle Jct, and Lake Louise before crossing the Alberta / British Columbia border at 16:00 on February 2 ND 1998. "The Hit" was getting scarred. This was already out of control. The bus continued through West Louise Lodge and Field Jct before taking a break in Golden. "The Hit" stayed on the bus. He was not looking forward to his arrival. He was actually hoping the greyhound would limp into town. The bus continued past Glacier Park, and Rogers Pass Glacier before arriving for a break in Revelstoke. "The Hit" stayed on the bus. The bus left Revelstoke at 18:30 heading through Sicamous, Salmon Arm, Enderby, Armstrong, Vernon, Oyama, and Winfield before arriving for a break in Kelowna at 10:15 in the evening. "The Hit" stayed on the bus. He was in a lot of trouble. Why? He searched his past once again while remaining guarded on the bus.
It was the middle of August 1975, and "The Hit" got a ride with his brother Leo to the Melfort Bus Depot. "The Hit" left Melfort 502 km trip heading south west towards Saskatoon. He had more than a few beers during the summer, and he had earned a few dollars as well. The STC Bus passed Plesantdale, Lac Vert, Naicam, Walden, and Spalding before turning west at Watson on the # 5 Highway towards Saskatoon. He was thinking about a new school and a new town as he passed Englefield, St. Gregor, Meunster and Humboldt before arriving in Saskatoon. He wondered about Bernadette. He switched busses in Saskatoon, Vanscoy, Delisle, Rosetown, Harris, and Zealandia before turning south again at Rosetown. He passed Elrose, Kyle, Stuart Valley, and Lienan before arriving in Swift Current. Harvey and his mother picked him up in Swift Current. They drove to Gull Lake and then south to Shaunavon. "The Hit" was home. There was no Mysterious Financier to be found in Ridgedale or St. Brieux in the summer of 1975. He was now on guard though as he focused on the final leg of the trip back to Vancouver.
The bus pulled out of Kelowna on the final leg of the trip pressing through Westbank, Merritt, Hope, Chilliwack, Abbotsford, Langley, and Coquitlam. "The Hit" arrived in Vancouver early in the morning. He saved enough money to have breakfast. He called Bob on February 3 RD 1998. They picked up his computers at the Burnaby packing depot. Garth Wasson had agreed to have "The Hit" move back into the lower level on Ranelagh in Burnaby. Bob and "The Hit" moved the equipment into the computer room. "The Hit" decided to hang on a little longer with the project. He was broke, but he could live very cheaply with free rent. He setup the computers with the TV card, and he set the camera back on the window. The Mysterious Financier's family was not far behind. Why did the Mysterious Financier's family hire Jimmy and his Crew before there ever was a note?
***** 48 DESCRIPTION Trans Canada Highway is travelled by "The Hit" through the gauntlet from Toronto to Vancouver to face the Mysterious Financier in Vancouver. Harvey's run continues from Oxdrift to Shaunavon where "The Hit" will attend Grade 9. "The Hit" tries the town drunks son job during the summer. The Hell's Angels saw the Mysterious Financier in action across Canada tainting the evidence before the package is lost.
