After 9 months of casually studying the honey bees and talking to
myriads of people about them, I have decided I need to plunge a bit
deeper into the mysteries that they hold. At the end of February, I
am going to be moving to NY to do an apprenticeship with Chris Harp
who is a bee doctor who makes a living caring for the bees as opposed
to taking honey from them.

I have been working on promoting urban agriculture since coming to the
city and have found that promoting hobby bee keeping will be a big
part of that. I am going to immerse myself in the bee life for the
next year so I can really understand the rhythms of their lives. I
know that there are a lot of people out there who want to learn how to
keep bees or just what it is they are doing. Part of my
apprenticeship will be on how to share my skills and knowledge with
people.

I feel like so much is happening here in Vancouver and I sincerely
hope that we continue moving in the right direction for a sustainable
city in regards to food.

It has been wonderful working with everyone at vuan and beyond.

I do plan on being at the meeting on Monday night all the same :D
