Edith and Arthur's now not only permanently closed, entire place is up for sale. (Not surprised).
While a very good pub and local hangout when it was the Fleetwood Arms, once taken over by the "Joseph Richard's Group" it went to hell.
Mediocre food at regular(read: "High") prices. Poor service. But the worst part was the mismanagement.
This all makes sense as this a group out of Alberta. Local laws dictated that they couldn't open a beer and wine store (Liquor Barn - now local half a block away at the local plaza),
without opening a pub - Fleetwood Arms becomes Edith and Arthur's,
a high schoolers attempt at ingratiating the local populace.
They didn't give a fiddlers fig about the bar (hence the cobwebs on the window sills for more than half a year. The very same (used) band-aid on the floor of the patio for more than four weeks.
The real money is in the Beer and Wine stores.
I wish you could hear the stories from staff at both sites.
A very sad story.
Even sorrier business model. (It may (will) make them more money, but it's the kind of business practice right out of the Donald Trump handbook.
Good riddance.

JRG is very sorry to see this location close as well. It has been a historic marker in the community for a long time.
Please know that JRG was not associated with the Beer and Wine store that previously was Edith & Arthur neighbour and as we are not an Alberta based company, your comments are inaccurate.
JRG has many exciting new establishments coming soon! Please go to
jrg.ca for information and details about how we got started.
Went by the place the other day two of the lights are still on but it is permanently closed. I never went there don't know anyone who did. The Ocean Beach in White Rock is decent a JRG joint as well.
