Riders from motorcycle clubs across Canada attended the Langley service for the president of the Haney chapter of the Hells Angels, Mike Hadden on Saturday, Sept. 4.
There were several different clubs from as far away as Quebec, but the majority of the attendees were Hells Angels members.
Police estimated the number of visitors at between 1,000 and 1,500, with some participating in the ride, but not the service.
Law enforcement officers also attended the event, including at least one from Quebec.
RCMP’s Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit, (CFSEU), was also on scene, taking photos.

Held at the Christian Life Assembly Church at, 21277 56th Ave. in Langley, the noon-hour event happened to coincide with the second annual Food Truck festival held in the church parking lot.
Organizers of the festival were advising customers to delay their trip to the festival until after the service, when there would be more room in the parking lot.
Many of the visiting bikers sampled the food truck fare before going inside the church for the service.

Hadden, who passed away on Sunday, Aug. 1, at the age of 64, was a lifelong resident of Maple Ridge, and described in an obituary as a “proud member” of the Haney Hells Angels chapter.
He was also owner of Haney Hawgs, a motorcycle shop.
From Hot Rods to Harleys his legacy was larger than life,” the tribute read.
Hadden is survived by his wife Carrie, his sons Jesse and Aaron, three grandchildren, and his partner and friend Dawn.
Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, with CFSEU, anticipated organized crime figures would be attending the funeral.

“Hells Angels funerals typically see members of the Hells Angels, their many supporters and affiliates, as well as other individuals connected to organized crime, attend to pay their respects. We are expecting that Mr. Hadden’s funeral will be no different,” Houghton commented.
Houghton said the event was incident-free.

Hundreds of Hells Angels from across Canada arrived at a church in Langley just before noon Saturday to pay tribute to Michael “Spike” Hadden — an original B.C. member of the club who died of cancer last month.
Bikers wearing patches from B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec rode in procession from Hadden’s Haney Hawgs business in Maple Ridge to the Christian Life Assembly Church on 56th Street in Langley.
Other Angel support clubs from across B.C. and Alberta also rode in the large tribute ride.
The associated clubs included the Jesters and Shadow Club from Surrey, the Unforgiven from Calgary, the Silent Grey, the Commandos, the Disciple Christians and an all-women motorcycle club.
Stationed at the church’s entrances controlling traffic were members of the Horsemen Brotherhood biker club.

Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton, from the anti-gang Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit. estimated there were about 1,500 people who attended Hadden’s service.
“Every chapter from across Canada was represented,” Houghton said, adding that Canadian members of Hells Angels charters in Greece and the Dominican Republic also attended.
One of the Greece members at the funeral, former Lower Mainland resident Damion Ryan, was featured on a poster released by police in May warning the public about gangsters who could be targeted.
CFSEU officers, as well as anti-gang units from other Lower Mainland RCMP detachment and police forces, monitored the funeral and the reception afterwards at the Haney HA clubhouse in Pitt Meadows.
Houghton said police were present because “it’s a funeral of an individual that’s long been known to have involvement with the Hells Angels and we are there to make sure that the event stays safe and respectful.”
An obituary published Aug. 24 said that Hadden, 64, was a “proud member of the Haney Hells Angels” and is survived by his wife Carrie, sons Jesse and Aaron, and three grandchildren. Jesse is also a member of the Haney chapter.
“From Hot Rods to Harleys, his legacy was larger than life,” the obituary said.
Many of those who arrived on Harleys Saturday had no identifiable patches or markings indicating an affiliation. Most were wearing black.
Many bikers milled around outside the church both before and after as food trucks were coincidentally set up in a section of the large church parking lot across from the Langley Airport.

The Hells Angels started in B.C. in July 1983 with three original chapters — Nanaimo, White Rock and Vancouver. Since then, the bikers have expanded with 10 chapters around the province and more than 100 members, prospects and hang-arounds.
Hadden’s Haney chapter opened 1987.

Odd that Passports Canada would give a passport to Hell's Angel gangster Damion Ryan and Canada Customs allows him to go back and forth from Greece.

How can such a notorious gangster obtain and keep a passport who has a Uncle who also is a full patch Hell's Angel? There are ppl in this country who can't obtain a passport who never did even a year of time and no ties to organized crime. Sounds like corruption and incompetence to me.
