Dear Parent/Guardian:
As part of our safety plan, Van Wyck Junior High School’s faculty,
staff and administration will conduct its Emergency Shelter “Go Home”
Drill on Tuesday, November 24, 2009. This drill is designed to test
our preparedness for an emergency evacuation and reunification with
parents.
At approximately 2:15 p.m., I will begin the drill. Parents will not
be able to enter the school at this time. The children will “shelter”
in the halls for several minutes and then be dismissed to their buses
for departure. You should expect your children home a little earlier
than usual. Please call my office if you have any questions.
On behalf of the entire Van Wyck community, I wish you a Happy and
Healthy Holiday Season.
