My name is Wesley, I am a physics student and would like to congratulate everyone who works for the development and progression of Vampire program, which has helped me a lot to develop my research project on materials. Accordingly, I'm trying to simulate just as same test, the hysteresis of the iron material, however, the resulting values are all 1, that is, no change in the orientation of the spins. So I would like, if possible, to help me solve this problem.

Note: Attached is the input of the simulation

Hi Wesley,

I’m glad VAMPIRE has been useful. What you are seeing is a classic magnetic simulation problem. In the LLG equation if M and H_eff are exactly aligned at zero K, there is no torque and therefore no hysteresis. You need to apply a small angle to the field (e.g. sim:applied-field-angle-phi = 0.1) to give a torque on the magnetisation. Also, you probably need a long simulation time to reach convergence for the coercivity (Hk = 2k_u/mu_s).

All the best,

Richard
