Hello Ladies,

Welcome to the VAMasterMind group! Please tell us a little bit more
about yourself so we can get to know you better!

I'm located in Cleveland, Ohio and I've been a Virtual Marketing
Assistant for almost a year . I decided to start a group where VA's
like me have a 'space' to come together to share and collaborate. I
feel there is so much to learn and so much information out there for
our business that if we could come together and share with one another
what we've learnt it might help us to get to where we would like to be
all that much faster!

Look forward to getting to know you all better as we grow together!

Hi there!

My name is Lelia Diane Koepnick & I've been a VA for seven years now,
but only full time the last year and half. I'm located in Fairmont,
WV and am working on building my business. I primarily do executive
type work & bookkeeping, but never turn down a job if it is within the
scope of what I am able to do.

I'm finding it really frustrating to be bidding against the $1.50 &
$2.00 per hour people from India, etc on eLance & GURU and would
really appreciate it if anyone could give me any ideas on building my
client base without having to do this. Thanks a million!

I'm really looking forward to participating in the group and hopefully
we'll learn a lot from each other.

Lelia

My name is Patti Hendrix and I'm located in Buford, Ga.  I don't officially have my own company yet although I'm in the process of doing some due diligence on how I can make that happen give my current situation.  I've actually been a virtual assistant for several years (off and on - long story!) working for one very wealthy individual as his EA and Personal Assistant. He was not keeping me busy enough so I took on 2 more individuals (one in major real estate development and the other a financial consultant) both friends/associates of his.  I do very different things for all three of my clients and I enjoy the variety.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and learning from each other with you all.
Sincerely,
Patti Hendrix

Hi Lelia,

I totally feel your frustration because like you I can't compete
against their prices!

I find that word of mouth and referrals are the best source of work.
It's hard initially to build up enough contacts that could generate
referrals, but it does happen over time. I find that good old
fashioned honest, hard work and dedication create appreciative clients
that will in turn become excellent sources of referrals.

Networking with your peers are a good way also because very often they
are looking for an extra set of hands to help with overflow work. You
could also try signing up with your local Chamber of Commerce and
attend some of their networking functions which is also a good way to
generate more leads.

Hope this helps!
