Followup on 1st VAMasterMind Group Conference Call

Hi Ladies,

Our first conference call went very well last night even though a few
that had expected to participate had other obligations and could not
make it - we'll catch up with you on our next call on October 14th, at
8pm EST!!

Quite a few topics arose in our discussions that I would like to post
to the group so that everyone is brought up to speed on them.

Firstly, a very good suggestion came up in our discussions that I
should reiterate to everyone and that is to feel free to post
questions to this group seeking help with issues you might have with
using a particular software, if you need recommendations or reviews
from members on a particular product or online service that they may
have used for their business that you might also be considering for
your business, how to handle a difficult customer or a non-paying
customer, how to price for a particular project for a client, etc.

I know sometimes working from our home offices most of the day can
create a feeling of being on an island which is why I thought this
group would be a good source of support and guidance, so please post
away!! ;)

If a member has come across a website that they feel might be useful
to other members, please feel free to post this to the group as well.
You can use your preferred email program to send messages to the group

and go to the "Discussions" section to add a new post or read other
member's postings.

Secondly, I'm working on our website that will be the permanent home
for this Group once it's all setup and ready to go. The domain will be
www.vamastermind.net and we will have the ability to do the following:

Discussion Forum Section
Referrals Network Section
Service Listings Section to facilitate Referrals
Recommendations Section for websites and products that might be of
interest to the Group
Mastermind Section for posting links to recorded conference calls for
members that cannot attend

I am open to any suggestions you might have for other sections or
areas that might be relevant for us to have on our website. This will
be "our" website and I want and need all of your input to make it
beneficial and functional for all of us as well as fun at the same
time> I know we have the skills and knowledge between us to do this!

Look forward to your support, suggestions and ideas to move us
forward!

Hi Linda,

For me how it happened was I was getting more work than I could handle
and I happened to know of these VA's from the discussion groups that I
am in and decided to ask them if they would like to do some sub-
contracting work for me and that's how it all started. I have a few
ladies that are on my team with different skills that I go to if I
need a little extra help with my clients.

The "Referrals" and Service Listings" pages that I plan to incorporate
into the Group when we move to our new home on vamastermind.net would
be a good place to have your information listed in in case a member
needs some help with a client that you happened to have the skills for
or would like to refer a client to you altogether.

Currently, there is a "Services Listing" section in this group on
Google that members could refer to if they need an extra helping hand
with overflow work. To view this section click on the following url http://groups.google.com/group/vamastermind/web/services-listing
If you would like to include your information in the listing, just
send me the information in Word document and I will add it to the list.

Depending on the direction that you have in mind for the group, you may
consider hosting a VA Directory where the members could list their VA
business, services offered and/or link to their website and blog.

The more links to your business that are on the net the better!

Hi Linda:

 

I can tell you how I got on them.  Four were posted as Requests for Proposal on the Canadian Virtual Assistant Connection (CVAC) that I mentioned last night and I submitted my Request for Proposal and got accepted.  The 5th was a mentoring/friendship with another VA I met through the CVAC who approached me directly about becoming a member of her team.
