CALL FOR BOOK CHAPTERS

Title : RECENT TRENDS IN INFORMATION REUSE AND INTEGRATION By Springer
Verlag
Editors : Tansel Özyer, Keivan Kianmehr, Mehmet Tan

MOTIVATION
----------
Tremendous effort is invested in producing valuable information and
tools. Reuse and integration are essential concepts that must be
enforced to avoid duplicating the effort and reinventing the wheel
each time the same field is to be investigated from a different
perspective. In organizations, we witness high volumes of data from
different sources form a big threat for filtering out the information
for effective decision making. This book will cover the recent
advances in information reuse and integration.

SCOPE
-----
The scope of the book will be information reuse and integration. The
aim of the book is to maximize the reuse of information, tools and
services by creating simple, rich, and reusable knowledge
representations to explore strategies for integrating this knowledge
into legacy systems. A homogeneous set of papers will be selected by
considering the following major topics.

Topics of the main areas to be considered:
Large scale data and system integration
Component-based design and reuse
Unifying data models (uml, xml, etc.) And ontologies
Database integration
Structured/semi-structured data
Middleware & web services
Reuse in software engineering
Data mining and knowledge discovery
Sensory and information fusion
Reuse in modeling & simulation
Automation, integration and reuse across various applications
Information security & privacy
Survivable systems & infrastructures
AI & decision support systems
Heuristic optimization and search
Knowledge acquisition and management
Fuzzy and neural systems
Soft computing
Evolutionary computing
Case-based reasoning
Natural language understanding
Knowledge management and e-government
Command & control systems (c4isr)
Human-machine information systems

Information reuse, integration and sharing in collaborative
environments

TARGET AUDIENCE
---------------
This book will be published to the interest of researchers,
practitioners from academia, industry, and government on information
reuse and integration.
