However, now after a fresh reinstall I'm pulling one folder from the backup that I made, just one folder, and I've been staring at a progress bar that didn't even get to 1% in 25 minutes. I'm afraid Easeus Todo Backup is a terrible solution as the restore function is extremely slow. I have disabled Windows Defender to speed it up a but, but it seems like it's even taking around 1 to 5 seconds for files that aren't even 1Kb.

I'm so bummed out because this is my work computer and I trust companies to put out good software, I mean, they are advertising that their software is good, so that claim is obviously ridiculous. At first it displayed it would take approx. 55 minutes to restore just one folder from the backup, but now after half an hour the time estimate has disappeared and the progress bar is still under 1%.
Take this warning, and go for another backup program. Now I have to let this run probably till well into tomorrow before I can even use this one folder, not to mention all the other data I still have to retrieve.... I hope the Easeus Todo Backup staff steps onto a lego with their bare feet!
One of the great things about ToDo Backup is that it offers both file/folder backup and drive/partition imaging. The former is simply copying files and storing them in a container file (*.pbd), while the latter copies all the information on a disk or partition, for wholesale restores and recovery of your system.
Both the Free and Home version ($39.95 annual or $59.95 perpetual) offer all those basic features. The Home version, which I tested, goes even further with disk/partition/system cloning, Outlook email backup, Security Zone (think restore OS partition), restore to different hardware and PCs, and for another $20 ($59.95 annually), 1TB of online storage.
ToDo Backup makes it easy to select what you want to back up, and provides easy options (shown below) for the most common backup operations: your Outlook email and your operating system. The latter is simply imaging the entirety of the disk that you boot your operating system from. If you use other email programs, use the file and folder backup for your email.
You can also back up your system with the more versatile disk backup, but the OS option simplifies a not necessarily intuitive process that includes several partitions and might fool less experienced users.

The company serves millions of customers worldwide, with many software products including data backup, video editing, location tracking, text editing, and file transfer.

Todo lets you secure backup files with passwords to prevent unauthorized access. This way, even if someone gains access to your account, they can't get to your backup files and leak them without knowing the specific passwords.
During every backup process, Todo will send email notifications to inform you of the state of the backup mission. You can choose to receive such notifications when the backup is successful or if it fails in transit.
I know that gmail and the exchange account store all emails in the respective servers, but if I can, I prefer having those emails backed up locally with the rest of my backups. (Doomsday scenario: those servers crash and lose everything!)
The good thing about EaseUS Mail Backup (when it works) is that one can explore down the backup file tree and view each individual email which has the extension .msg. I do not know of any other backup program that can backup Outlook this way. Do you?
I use Outlook for all my two email accounts, which are in gmail and in a Microsoft exchange. I know they are stored in the other servers, but like to have a backup copy of all. I am not sure MailStore does this.
My first test was disappointing: I expected all my emails from two email accounts to be backed up as well as the Outlook Data File. The size of this backup should be around 1Gb. But the backup I ran is only about 1,900 Kb. It took less than one second. I backed up everything (I think) in my Outlook profile. There are two email accounts there, it should have backed them up, but obviously did not.

In this section of my review, I will be installing ToDo Backup on my own PC and assessing how well it functions as a multipurpose backup solution. This begins with the installation process itself before moving on to look at the process for creating both file-level and disk image backups, testing the multiple recovery options available as well as looking at some of the other useful features included.
One of the quickest and easiest methods for creating any new backup set is to simply select a set of files and then set them to be backed up on a fixed schedule (e.g., automatically backed-up once per day, week or month as required). In this first section of my review, I am going to focus on the file-level backup capabilities of ToDo Backup and highlight the process required for creating such backups.
One of the first tasks here is to choose the type of backup we want to make (a file level backup in this particular case) before then choosing the corresponding icon in the middle of the configuration page to continue with said backup type.
The next important setting to take note of is that of backup encryption. This can optionally be turned on or off as required and, when enabled, applies strong, zero-knowledge AES 256-bit encryption to any resulting backup files (meaning they are afforded a very high degree of security should they ever find their way into the wrong hands).
As can be seen above, ToDo Backup has a very powerful scheduling engine built in with options for creating hourly, daily, weekly or monthly backups alongside one-time runs and backups which trigger when certain events happen such as users logging into the system.
Finally, I am going to specify a location for storing this backup which is different to the default location suggested by the software. This begins by clicking the destination option (seen earlier on in the setup process) and then selecting from one of the four available storage options (see above).
Once running, this new backup set can be monitored from the main backup overview page. As can be seen below, we can see the progress of the backup including an estimation of the completion time and the speed at which data is being transferred.
And with this, the new file-level backup set is both configured and has now been run as well. As per the schedule I set earlier on in the set-up process, this set will continue to run every hour and will keep 30-days of historic versions as was also specified.
NB- Historic file versioning is one of the most important components of any backup and is what allows retrieving older versions of files (other than that of the latest one backed-up). Historic versioning is also one of the best methods for protecting valuable data against malware and ransomware attacks with at least 30-days of versioning recommended to provide a good baseline of protection. Moving on with the configuration and, as can be seen before, we can optionally configure a schedule for this new disk image backup. This can be as simple as running the set once per day / week / month or, as can be seen above, running the set regularly every 2 hours (with 30-days of historic retention also set to help manage the overall backup size).
