Windows 10 1909 (November 2019 Update, codename '19H2') was released publicly in November, 2019, it was the eighth major update to Windows 10, which was preceded by version 1903. Compared to version 1903, Windows 10 brings some new features and changes to this update, such as creating an event directly from the calendar on the taskbar, cloud files appear in file explorer search, third-party virtual assistant on lock screen, option to configure notification settings directly in action center, improved battery life, performance improvements, the navigation pane on the Start menu will automatically expand whe you hover over items, etc.

Windows 10 (the successor to Windows 8 / 8.1) was released for the first time to public on July 29, 2015, it was available for many device platforms like desktop / laptop PC, smartphone, tablet etc., and it uses the same software ecosystem in all platforms. Windows 10 is an operating system as a service for consumers and businesses. According to Microsoft, Windows 10 is based on 'software as a service' model in which the operating system receives ongoing updates rather than issuing a full new version. Windows 10 introduces Universal Windows Platform, a platform on which developed apps can work in all Windows 10 devices. In Windows 8, Universal Applications work in fullscreen, while in Windows 10, those apps work as normal software applications in a normal window.

The Windows 7-like start menu is back in the Windows 10, with app tiles like Windows 8 / 8.1. Users can change the start menu size to either full screen or small size. All types of applications can be snapped on the screen, which lets you work together. The taskbar has a task view icon that allows you to easily switch to different open apps, or create a new virtual desktop. Windows 10 includes two user interface (UI) modes, one is optimized for devices with keyboard and mouse, and the other is for a touch screen device.

Microsoft introduced several new features and applications in Windows 10's first release such as Microsoft Edge Browser, Cortana Virtual Assistant, Universal Windows Platform, New Start Menu, Task View and Virtual Desktops, DirectX 12, Game bar, Multi-factor user authentication, Snap Assist, Notification centre, and more.

Windows 10 is available in many different editions, for home PCs, you can download a Home or Pro version, and for business computers you can install the Enterprise Edition, and in academic institutions you can use the Education edition of the operating system. Brief information about each PC edition of Windows 10 is given below:

RST was running perfect with WIN 10 version 1909, but now it was obviously moved into the windows.old folder during the upgrade. It is still shown in: SETTINGS/APPS & FEATURES (version 12.9.0.1001 and the "change" button is inactive) but disappeard from the list of my apps when cklicking the START button. The device manager shows no problems, the drivers for the disk (Intel Raid 1 Volume SCSI Disk Device, Microsoft, Version 10.0.19041.1, Date 21.06.2006) and the controller (Intel(R) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller) are the latest and both are working fine. My CPU is an Intel64 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11.

I looked on HP's website and the HP xw4600 Workstation works with the Intel X38 Express chipset that was released back in 2007 and that it is not fully compatible with Windows* 10, it is currently discontinued:

That is the reason why the Intel RST interface disappeared after the Windows* upgrade and for this platform, we can say you were kind of "lucky" with your system since it was working fine with Windows* 10 1909.

"What would happen if I try to uninstall the Intel Rapid Storage Technology from my Windows Apps. Will this uninstall the drives too and will this deleate my RAID 1?" The response is no, because of the same reason, what got the deleted was the user interface the RAID 1 structure is still there so you can always, that date remains in the Windows* Kernel.

"Is it possible to just uninstall and then reinstall (I have the SetupRST.exe still in my download folder, product version 12.9.0.1001 and file version 2.0.42.0)." The answer is yes, but, this version of Intel RST 12.9.0.1001 is not fully compatible with Windows* 10, the version that you should be using and that we recommend to install is version 14.8:

Now I have successfully uninstalled the old version. Just one question before installing the new version: Is there any risk that I crash my PC/Windows system because RST will eventually install a new driver (that may be not compatible) without a warning?

Just to let you know, we always recommend to back up any important information you might have on your RAID configuration before doing any changes to the Intel RST application or to the RAID structure.

Now, in reference to your inquiry, "Is there any risk that I crash the PC/Windows system because RST will eventually install a new driver (that may be not compatible) without a warning?", no, there is no risk, what will change if eventually a new driver gets installed will be the Intel RST user interface, the RAID 1 structure will remain the same and the PC/Windows* will not crash.

I still have the setupRST.exe version 12.9.0.1001 but I can't install it because it says: the product requires a restart. I would like to try to use the version 12.9.0.1001 (maybe with compability mode win 7). Do I need to delete some old registry entries?

Let's face facts, Intel chose to NOT support Intel RST under Windows 10 on these oldwe 3, 4 and 5 Series boards. Microsoft provided an inbox driver that sort of worked with early versions of Windows 10. As things progressed, however, well, you see the results; it is no longer being supported by Microsoft (either).

When right clicking on bleachbit.exe, properties and details for version 3.2.0, I see the file version and product version.
When right clicking on bleachbit.exe, properties and details for version 4.0.0, I don't see anything for the file version and product version.

When running bleachbit-console.exe, I get a black window. This happens on my work laptop so no worries. It works as intended on my sister's laptop. I guess it's something crazy about my work laptops. Thanks so much for responding. I'll just run 3.2.0 on my work laptop.

When running bleachbit_console, I get two black windows that open. They both close and the BleachBit gui never opens. Anti virus is CylanceProtect. It's no biggie. I can use the older version on my work laptop.

Windows 10 2004 (May Update)
Bleachbit 4.0 installed as a 32 bit application on a 64 bit system. Is this OK?
Bleachbit launches, keeps the processor busy at more than 50%, but the Bleachbit GUI remains invisible.
Bleachbit is now running in compatibility mode with Windows 8. Windows 10 found Bleachbit incompatible with my system.
Bleachbit is now running but it logs many red line errors.
Bleachbit started misbehaving before the May update, and after the previous 2 security updates.

Try version BleachBit 3.2.0 with Windows update 2004. I had issues with another work machine running Windows update 1909. Maybe some Windows recent update is causing this issue. Use BleachBit 3.2.0 in the meantime. I'm happy Andrew created this software!

If you are about to install Windows 10 on your PC, you might want to know if your device is capable of running the latest operating system from Redmond. Version 1909 of Windows 10 has the same requirements as its predecessor, version 1903 'May 2019 Update'.
