For Sale: Kenwood TL-922A

Hello

I have a Kenwood TL-922A amplifier that is excess to my needs. Would like to sell locally, it’s a beast.

Some details:

Has 2 fairly new Matchlett (Chinese) 3-500z tubes installed bought from k5svc. Maybe 35 hours on them.
Spare Eimac (US) Tube
10 Meter Mod

I did the W8JI recommended mods:

Soft-key circuit installed (so newer rigs can safely key it)
Grounded Grids
Glitch resistor

Plate Current Meter needs Replacing (I have a spare one I will include, just haven’t installed it)
Also have a spare IG/HV/RF meter.

This amp can be tuned fine with the IG meter and an external wattmeter, which is what I have done. With the grids grounded and a stiff 220v line these will put out 1200w easy with about 80w of drive. I tune it for max smoke at 85w and then dial the exciter back to 75w or so.

Cosmetically probably a 7 out of 10. Face plate is in nice shape though.

I mainly used this for ragchews on 40m and sometimes 160. Willing to let everything go locally for $850.

Willing to deliver in the Valley within a hour’s drive or so (I live in Fluvanna)
