Only if the FSK keying is done via the DTR or RTS line, e.g. from EXTFSK. MMTTY cannot do this without the help of EXTFSK or EXTFSK64. MMTTY on its own uses TxD for FSK, but TxD is needed for CAT.

You can do both CAT and FSK with one virtual port, if you split it…..

Bo,

MMTTY requires its own COM port. That is why you can not share radio control and FSK RTTY on the virtual COM port.

Radio control with CI-V may not be as robust as radio control via the USB cable. When I owned the IC-7300, I used AFSK RTTY, 115200 baud radio control, and the internal radio codec. I did not use the CI-V port. That setup should be explained in this document:

https://n1mmwp.hamdocs.com/mmfiles/icomusbcodecinstructions-pdf/

The IC-7610 creates two virtual COM ports and eliminates this conflict.

It took a day, tons of reading & youTubes and I conquered it!
The problem was not ME.
EXTFSK64 did not provide the popup window! It was minimized and would not restore.
EXTFSK worked fine!

Here's my findings, for corrections and improvements.
Many thanks to the N1MM docs and K0PIR youTubes and email.

N1MM   MMTTY    FSK setup  9/20/21   W4GHV

1. Win4Icom doesn't work, the COM0COM virtual ports do not toggle DTR RTS

2. The COM port of the SECOND cable is used in N1MM to do rig control, freq., etc.

Set to 19200,(in N1MM and the radio) which is the max speed of that cable.

That is the only line setup in config, hardware, 19200,DTR Off, RTS = PTT

3. The COM port of the main USB cable is used in MMTTY (to toggle the DTR & RTS lines)

Its baudrate can be 115200 (set in the radio)  setup in following steps

4. In N1MM in the digital window, select setup, setup MMTTY

5. In MMTTY setup, select Misc TxPort COM-TxD(FSK)   USB port  C

6. In Soundcard setup, Reception USB audio codec   transmission click on an empty slot

7. In TX setting, PTT&FSK  EXTFSK  not EXTFSK64 OK

A small window should popup, if not grab it from the taskbar

Port COM port of the main USB cable. Status OK shown and FSK output DTR, PTT output RTS

8. Attempts to do it with just the main USB cable not attempted!
