The VA QSO Party will begin Saturday March 21st at 10 am.
It will run until midnight Saturday, then start again Sunday
at 8 am and continue to 8 pm.
Modes include CW, Phone, and limited digital activity on RTTY
and PSK31; NO FT8/4, as they don't support the needed
exchange info. Low Power is 150 watts or less (hint: run an amplifier
at 150 watts or less to give you more oommph); QRP is 5 watts or
less, as usual.
ASSISTANCE IS ALLOWED! It is not spelled out in the rules, but
is in the pre-party briefing, which I have attached to this email.
There are Bonus Stations; see the briefing, pages 17-18 and 30,
for details. I have also attached the official rules, in case they
are not totally spelled out in the briefing.
As before, please use "SVWCC" (Shenandoah Valley Wireless
Contest Club) as the club. There was some confusion last year
with some using VARA and others SVWCC. This way, not only
can VARA members participate, but any ham can use SVWCC
to congregate their efforts to the club. We need all the help
we can get to compete with the big clubs in VA!
Note the points values for the various modes:
PH = 1 point
CW = 2 points
Digital = 2 points
VA Mobile/Rover/Expedtion = 3 points
Thanks in advance, and have a good time in the VA QSO Party!
