Some hams have been having trouble with their computers and WSJT-X( and maybe WSJT 10 ) in that, when they shut the program down, and shut down the computer, that when they restart the computer, and try to run WSJT-X, they get an error message saying that there is another instance of the program running, and cannot start it. This ham discovered a trick in Windows 10 that I have never heard about, that solves that problem, and may solve other problems that others are having with their computers.

Press and hold the shift key while clicking shut down on your computer.
I had the same situation happen to me a couple months ago. After much research, I learned Windows 10 will sometimes retain the last program run in order to speed the start up process the next time the computer is turned out. Using the shift key while powering off flushes the system clean. Has kept me running A-OK since.
