"When hams change their FCC registered address, some QRZ 'Detail'
data
under their call will NOT reflect the new address, but continue to
reflect
old data, like county, state, grid square, and other associated
data tied
to the latter. QRZ has stated the
responsibility for maintaining data under 'Detail',
other than the
license information, is that of the amateur radio operator. When you
change your FCC address, you will have to go to QRZ Support and advise
what
changes are needed under 'Detail', such as state, county, grid square
etc. It does
not automatically happen.
Another
issue is the email address a ham will have listed on QRZ.
Hams often forget to notify QRZ when they change their email address.
In
summary, the FCC database mail address and other license pertinent
information
under 'Detail' such as effective dates and license class
will/should always be current.
But again, it is a different story for
many parts of what is in the 'Detail' part of the hams'
QRZ page. If a
county hunter this is an issue when a city is located across more than
one county, not uncommon.
If
any of you come across issues caused by wrong data being
extracted, I'd urge you
to try and contact the ham and let him/her know
about the 'Detail' issue. QRZ will not
accept changes to that data
except from the affected ham."
