SNP and BRPW

Greetings Hamsters,

I have a question. I miss listening to the Shenandoah Park and Blue Ridge Parkway radio communications. I can receive DMR, However, I have no clue of the code plug to use or what data to enter into my radio.

Anyone out there is can set me in the right direction?

Both parks are using P25.  I think it is still phase 1.

I just noticed that Va State Police has converted to P25 phase 2.  The old Phase 1 radios are approaching 10 or more years of age and will be replaced soon.  Don't buy a receiver that does only P25 phase 1. 

 

I hope some old VSP radios become available surplus.  Their Quantar repeaters are fantastic for amateur radio service.  In Culpeper we have a 2M and 440 repeater using FM and P25.  Also have one on GMRS but obviously not running P25 on that one.

They probably are. I haven't listened to them for over a year.  But since everyone else is going to P25 phase 2 I would assume all government agencies will be converting also.

SNP is not encrypted, I have them programmed in my scanners and hear them daily.
