Any who already has or plans to upgrade their vehicle exterior or interior lights to LED I EXTREMELY recommend Cyron Motor. Their products are awesome. High quality products and the best part is they are completely RFI free. One of their main focus is producing RFI free LED bulbs. I have tried other LED manufactures and nothing compares to Cyron Motor. Just replaced a pair of LED headlights in my 2002 Ford Excursion which completely killed my FM radio and knocked out weak signals on my VHF 2 meter radio with Cyron Motor bulbs. Absolutely NO RFI on anything. They even make RFI free bulbs for motorcycles. Thier website is https://cyronmotor.com/ . Talk with AL at exention 1250. He is actually the president of the company and he knows his stuff. Just FYI I have tried filtering the other brands of LEDs to get rid of the RFI but I never had any luck.  Jerry WD4ITN

That's very interesting. The RFI from LEDs comes from the power supply. In AC powered residential bulbs they obviously have to change the 120 volt AC power into something lower voltage and DC for the lights. In a 12 volt DC environment like a car I wouldn't have thought there was much, if anything, for a power supply. It would seem a very basic current limiting resistor or at worst a voltage regulator would take care of it. I wouldn't have thought any 12 volt DC LED bulbs would have produced RFI.
Good to know.

I took one apart and that is all it was. Just an LED with a heat sink and that by itself doesn't produce any kind of noise.
But if you a a newer vehicle 2010 and new that uses the low beam as a running light there is a PWM unit that goes in series
with the LED. That is the noise maker.
