I was at work at a dentist office in Harrisonburg and the copy machine started flapping weirdly. I called David, KD9LA at JMU and asked if he had just had an earthquake and he acknowledged it. As a Mormon, it knocked the angel Moroni off the top of the LDS temple in Washington DC (actually Kensington MD), the big beautiful building on the hill as you go around the beltway.

I was still living in earthquake country (SoCal, near Palm Springs) at the time. Oddly enough, my wife and I were on vacation in Front Royal, in Walmart at that moment. Recognized it right away as an earthquake, but wondered why temblors were following us around.

That day I was actually at Shenandoah Valley Electric Coop where I did consulting work.

I was in Jason Armentrout’s (N4DSL) office.  I forget why I was there.

The metal roof started to rattle like it was suddenly really windy, but I looked out the window and the nearby plants and bushes were still.

I think we turned to each other and realized it must have been an Earthquake.
