The KC8MTV 145.290 Repeater is BACK ON-AIR

Hello Fellow Ham,

  Now that things have settled down with the Sprint/T-Mobile acquisition and my job is secure, I have now reactivated the 145.290 MHz CTCSS 131.8 Hz  repeater on Bear Den Mountain. This initial setup and reactivation will be an ongoing project to improve the repeaters performance. Currently due to the db loss of the cables and tuning cavities, the repeater is currently putting out 30 watts. I will be working to improve the repeaters performance by adding the following items over time:

1) New SINCLAIR SD224-SF3PASNM 4-dipole broadband gain antenna

2) New Sinclair Technologies Q2330E Duplexers or at least additional duplexers

3) New hard line and connectors

4) Possibly a Crescend Technologies P10 Series 100 Watt VHF Base Amplifier

Please feel free to utilize the repeater and start spreading the word that it is back on the air. I will also be starting up the KC8MTV Saturday Night C4FM Digital Net as soon as we complete our 5G activation for the T-Mobile cellular equipment that is on-site. This will be exciting to finally have high speed internet at the site and the ability to host the C4FM Virginia Wires-X Room directly from the repeater site.
