Probably meant as a joke, but there is truth to it. Code signing certificates are getting shorter and shorter, soon the WDT will need to pay an automated service to keep certificates current, or the code we produce will not run on Windows without turning off SAC. Even then, I'm not convinced the issue will not be forced by Microsoft. Many served agencies are not going to allow computers in their network to run with SAC off. These are real costs to the WDT. Free software is becoming a thing of the past, subscription software is the future, like it or not.

Thanks, I didn't know that (not that I ever intended to enable this again).

Just for the protocol, I assume everyone using Winlink Express on
Windows 11 has disabled this.

Might be interesting to know how many people (percent) are using Windows
11 then.
