Several weeks ago, someone on ValleyHams recommended Paul Hansen, W6XA, as a good bet for repair of my toasted ICOM 751A.  I have attempted to reach him by his USPS mailing address in Tucker, GA, and a few weeks later, by his email address, both from QRZ.com.  There has been no answer.  I tried 411 for a phone number, but there is no record of any Hansen in or near Tucker, GA.  Is it possible that he has moved, or perhaps is a SK?

I still want to eventually get my 751A repaired.  Can any of you recommend another person (not ICOM HQ) who might be good for such repairs?

Based on your previous inquiry, I suspect you initially tried to contact W6XA around July 4th.  W6XA was apparently on Baker Island (dxpedition) at the time.    About 10 days on the island plus two 6 day journeys by boat, not counting loading and unloading and between boat and home QTH, plus any sightseeing along the way.   So he was probably gone for a month or more.

Unless he was operating remotely from Tucker, GA, W6XA was not one of the KH1 operators. He is listed as part of the support team (technical support) for the DX-pedition.

I just had an Icom radio repaired by him last week. He’s there. He has a large work load and get to emails when he can. Be patient, he’s worth the wait.
