Microsoft has been very aggressive in power control since it directly relates to battery duration for laptops.  One thing I've been forced to update several times is the USB Battery Saver and USB selective suspend 'feaures'.  Windows may try and suspend a USB device for any number of reasons, not just the PC sleeping.  This shifts the problem to the device driver where it needs to know how to wake from suspend mode when needed.  I'd check the following and see how it works.  BTW, this is not just a Windows problem, I have seen the same problems on MacOS.

This is not a once and done fix.  Many times, the vendor OS updates will reset your changes, so this will be something to check from time to time as you apply OS patches.

To disable USB power control features in Windows 11, such as USB Selective Suspend and USB Battery Saver, you can use the following methods:

1. Via Settings (USB Battery Saver) Open Settings (Win + I), navigate to Bluetooth & devices, select USB, and toggle USB battery saver to Off.  This prevents Windows from suspending USB devices to save power. 

2. Via Control Panel (USB Selective Suspend)

1. Open Control Panel and go to Hardware and Sound > Power Options. 
2. Click Change plan settings next to your active plan, then select Change advanced power settings. 
3. Expand USB settings > USB selective suspend setting. 
4. Set both On battery and Plugged in to Disabled, then click OK. 

3. Via Device Manager (Per-Port Control)

1. Open Device Manager (Win + X + M). 
2. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. 
3. Right-click each USB Root Hub and select Properties. 
4. In the Power Management tab, uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power and click OK. 

4. Via Command Prompt Run the following commands in an Administrator Command Prompt to disable selective suspend globally:

powercfg /SETDCVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226 0

powercfg /SETACVALUEINDEX SCHEME_CURRENT 2a737441-1930-4402-8d77-b2bebba308a3 48e6b7a6-50f5-4782-a5d4-53bb8f07e226 0

powercfg /SETACTIVE SCHEME_CURRENT

I'm not certain which method will work best for you.  If you have already applied the setting and they don't help, please let me know and I can search for additional setting to adjust.

Hello UWE et all,

Equipment Dell i5 WIN11, Signalink interface, and Icom7410 ( not cat control )

Since the start of version 3 I have been fighting an issue where the audio becomes flaky and starts flickering. This I mentioned in a very recent post.

I had always used JTDX 1.59 with no issues. When the audio goes flaky running WSJT-X I close it and start JTDX and  have no issues.

On the weekend I used RevoPro and cleaned out everything to do with WSJT-X from my computer plus made sure the .ini file was deleted as well. I reinstalled the latest version of 3.1.0 AL as a clean new install, configured everything and away it went. I used it last night for a couple of hours and for about an hour this morning and it worked perfectly.

I left it running for about and hour and when I came back and called CQ the audio problem returned. I closed it and started JTDX and no issues.

WSJT-X always worked with versions prior to V3.

UWE does JTDX do anything different with the audio than WSJT-X Improved?

I am at a total loss here as one would think that the basics are the same in both software.
