Subject: Re: [Acb cap chap] BINGO TIME ONCE AGAIN
Hello Bingo Buds! at our Board meeting last
Saturday we discussed the future of our bingo program and made some decisions
and changes. We do hope that you will all realize that these changes were made
as we all felt they would benefit our Bingo program.
As of this month, I'm inviting all of you to join
me again in my home for a fun filled evening of fun, fundraising and Chapter
friendship. I'm making a few minor changes to how it was done in my home in the
past in hopes that it will encourage more people to participate.
First of all, the hours of bingo. We will start
serving dinner at 5:00 PM, bingo will start promptly at 6:00, a break at 7:00
and we'll finish no later than 9:00. Moving our start time to later than we had
it before should permit working folks to get from work to bingo by 6:00.
One other change. I'd like for anyone that plans to
attend bingo to contact me either by email or phone no later than Thursday
afternoon at 5:00 PM to let me know of you plans to attend. My space is a bit
more limited at this house and I want to make sure I can accommodate the number
of players. Also, since I will be preparing dinners again, it will give me an
idea of how much food to buy and cook which should prevent us from buying too
much and should result in a greater amount of money raised throughout the
night.
For those of you that have not attended bingo in my
home before, this is how it works. You pay a $5.00 buy-in which gives you one
bingo card. You may purchase additional cards at $1.00 per card. When you buy-in
you have the option to pay an additional $5.00 for dinner. Dinners usually
include a small dinner plus one drink of your choice. You may purchase
additional drink tokens, $1 each or a bag of 6 for $5.00. These drink tokens may
be used to buy additional drinks throughout the evening.
Our dinners usually consist of such dinner items as
pizza, burritos, hotdogs and chili, hamburgers, sandwiches and sometimes in the
spring we do a salad bar. They are very imformal meals that are good but quick
to serve with very little mess involved.
Since I took back the bingo program in January, I
have absolutely no bingo prizes. So, we're starting from scratch and I'm
depending on all of you to help me with prizes.
Michael and I are very excited about having all of
you back in our home again. We had such great times in the past.
Be sure to let me hear from you by Thursday
afternoon and don't forget the bingo prizes.
Your friend, Elena Thomason
