Friends at Vallamai,
For the past one-and-a-half years my contact with Tamil is broken because I am not able to type in Tamil.

Earlier, I used e-kalappai with Bamini keyboard. But when I switched over to Windows 8, the addition of 'u' to other letters stopped working. Then I downloaded one Keyman or something by that name, where you could type into a window and then cut and paste it. Now even that has stopped working.

Why I want to use Bamini is because my Ansi font New Kannan Text has the Bamini keyboard. I use this font for my Tamil programs in Visual FoxPro. I don't want to change from one keyboard to another while shifting from Ansi ro Unicode.

If there is anyone on this Forum who uses the Bamini keyboard for typing in unicode, could he or she please share his / her experience with me.

Regards,
Dogra

Dear Shri S K Dogra,

There was an issue with Windows 8 and both NHM and e-Kalappai were affected.  Few months back, Muguntharaj had sent a mail saying that this issue with Windows 8 has been fixed.  A few users have tested and found the latest version to be working fine.  You may like to see:

Dear Mr. Hari Krishnan,
I went to the site and downloaded it, but my Nortor Anti-virus says the file has a trojan in it.  So, everytime I download it, the Norton anti-virus deletes it. I even temporarily disabled auto-protect and downloaded the file. But as soon as the auto-protect was enabled, the first thing it did was to delete the ekalappai file.
