மொழியாக்கம் ஒரு கலை; இரு மொழிகளிலும் நல்ல புரிதல வேண்டும்.அகராதி மொழியாக்கங்களைப் பார்த்தேன். சரியாகப்படவில்லை. 'முத்திரை குத்துவது' என சொல்லலாம். சென்னை வாசிகள் தன்னல விரும்பிகள், தஞ்சைத்தமிழுக்கு தனிமணம். கும்பகோணம் என்றால் பிரச்னை செய்பவர்கள் இந்த மாதிரி முத்திரை குத்துவது தான் stereotyping. 

சொல்லுக்குச் சொல் மொழி பெயர்த்தால், முழி பிதுங்கும்.' நேரில் வா. ஒரு கை பார்க்கிறேன் = Coms direct; One hand, I shall see.'  👺

இனவேற்றுமை, பால்வேறுபாடு, அகப்பாலுணர்வு வேறுபாடுகள் போன்றவற்றைப்பற்றிக் கூறும் கருத்துகளே முன்சாய்வு வார்ப்புடையவை.  

(இப்படி மொழிபெயர்ப்பது செயற்கையானது. சிறிதே விரித்து எழுதினால் இயல்பாகவும் கருத்து விளங்குமாறும் இருக்கும்.) stereotype என்பதைச் சாய்வுறைவு  என்றும் சில இடங்களில் மொழ்பெயர்க்கலாம்.  அதாவது கருத்தில் சாய்வுறைவு கொண்டிருத்தல். stereotype என்பது இன்னின்னவர் இப்படியிப்படித்தான் என முன்சாய்வு கொண்டு பொருத்துவது, அல்லது பொருத்திப் பார்ப்பது, கருதுவது.

இல்லை, சாரே!  'பார்ப்பனர்கள் சாப்பாட்டுப் பிரியர்கள்.' , 'செட்டியார்கள் கருமிகள்.' சர்தார்ஜிகள் முட்டாள்கள்'. இந்த மாதிரி முத்திரை குத்துவது (சாய்விரைவு) தான் Stereotype.

உறைந்து போன சாய்வுகள நான் சாய்வுறைவு என்றேன். சாய்வான உரையை சாய்வுரை எனலாம் (opinionated statements).  சாய்வுரைவு என்பது புதிய நல்ல சொல்லே. உரைவு-உரைத்தல் என்பது சரியாக இருப்பதாகக் கொண்டால். முதலில் வார்ப்புரை, வார்ப்புறைவு என்று சிந்தித்தேன். நாம் நம் இயல்பின்படி, முத்திரைக்குத்துதல் என நீங்கள் சொல்வதுபோலவே சொல்லலாம். முன்சாய்வுடன் அதையே உண்மையெனக் கொண்டு பேசுதல் செயற்படுதல்.

இனம் சுட்டல், கலவி சுட்டல், பால் சுட்டல் என்றிவையே பெரும்பாலும் ஒருகுலைப்பேச்சில் இருப்பவை.

செகை என்பது செக்ஸ் என்ற சொல்லின் ஒலிஒப்புமை கருதிப் புதுச்சொல்லா? 

செகை என்று பழைய சொல் தமிழில் இருக்கிறது. மிகப் பயன்பாட்டில். ஆனால் செக்ஸ் என்ற பொருள் இல்லை.

தமிழ் மீது எனக்கு பற்றுவரக் காரணமாய் இருந்தவர்கள் என் தமிழாசிரியைகள் திருமதி லீலாவதியும், கல்லூரி பேராசிரியை திருமதி தேவகியும் தான். இவர்களைப் போலவே என்னுடைய தலைமையாசிரியை விமலா தங்கபுஷ்பம் என்றுமே என்னை கனிவுடன் கவனித்து வந்தார். கல்வி மட்டுமின்றி தன்னம்பிக்கை, ஒழுக்கம், அன்பு என்று பல சிறந்த பண்புகளையும் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தார்.

I think as Pasupathi Selvam says "muttirai kuttal" can be used positively.  Appar had Nandi and Trishul marks as mudraa made on his body. Srivaishnavas do panca-samskaaram.

These are endorsing or branding their affiliations with particular sects.
